I don't think this is any proof that MS is not forcing parity on multiplatform games. We have actual evidences of MS parity clause, even Sony publically spoke out against it last gen.

First off, Microsoft knew from the start the XBox 360 was NOT ready for the market. They Knew that the consoles have a very HIGH failure rate.
Secondly, the console should have never passed the FCC regulations. It wasn't ready for market, period.
Over $1 billion is pocket change for Microsoft, and they would gladly pay that to still beat beat to the market and have a year head start.

So the essence of your post is to say that, although Microsoft released a console that was poorly engineered and needed more testing, they eventually fixed the problem some 5-6 years later with the Xbox 360 slim. And that because they also had a warranty program after denying it, then being sued for it.

I think you just have to ignore the whole "being lumped" feeling and speak your mind. If you're biased towards one console vs the other, that's more than ok too, as long as you're being honest. We're human, and part of being human is that we tend to have different preferences.

I'm not sure if sales were always at the frofront in the ps2 era. But I can say without a doubt that Microsoft were the one ones to push the sales agenda more than anybody else.
Even before ever releasing a console, microsoft made it publically known that their goal was to overtake Sony. Last gen, every VGChartz and NPD articles were a bloadbath. Guys like Aaron Greenberg and Major Nelson would get on rooftops to shout "the sales". Even...
I'm not saying that the study is correct, or incorrect, but I'm not surprised to be honest. We are in essence, 3D beings, and games being in 3D gives you a better sense of immersion than the typical 2D intake.
If the action is perceived to be more real, then we experience it on a more personal level as well. I think this in fact has the potential to rewire our brains in small ways.

Yeah the servers are down for me here as well. But this is something I expected especially given how big of change to their network this update implies. Plus they have to Update the store today as well.

This is a fine example and one of the many reasons why the XBox always lose every generation. They seem to believe that there are only 3 months in a year, October to December. I think it is very telling that Between March and late September of this year, you couldn't find a single article like this one. As in, Microsoft didn't have single exclusive game out for the XBOX One for the last 6 months. And now that Halo and SSO are about to come out, and Forza Horizon 2 came out, the media once again wants you to believe that it's been raining games all year long for the Xbox One.

I agree with a lot of the points you listed. But there's also the fact that new IPs challenge the status quo. And when that happens, hatred normally follows. It is human nature an it takes a lot of logical fortitude to not fall into that trap.
