last i checked ninty had the wiimote concept in development even before the gamecube, didn't launch it with gc because it was no where near ready.
i'll definately give praise to sony on the home approach but will recognize that all they did was take concepts and tidbits from current social entertainment (second life, mii, achievements, etc) packing it into one social network. home hasn't been launched yet, nor has it had to experience multiple consoles live with various conn...
AAAANNNND on continues the wiibashing trolls...
violater said it best, it's a fun console. fun for everyone. not just the hardcore gamers or developers who preach pixel counts, movie formats, and how many buttons u have to press in sequence to fire 14 rockets at the head. compare 360 and ps3. wii is gaming but it's on a different realm aimed towards a different demographic. stuff i like isn't what you'll like. on that note the wii gets played just as my 360, wii for my sister and girlf...
fordgtguy
u forgot to add if an owner of both 360 & ps3 are happy with the investment
i'll agree that the ps3 is a good piece of hardware, but to say it's the best can't be justified until a year or two down the line so long as developers can make games and players like the games, without excuses
i believe both systems will have it's advantages and disadvantages, no clear cut winner in my book
if this is true, and sony goes back to rumble i will die laughing. not because i'm a wiibot or xbot, but because sony's PR people yet again got caught with their pants down thinking they can force things onto the consumer when they were proved wrong. they can't spare any more negativity and there's only upwards to go from now.
the good thing is they are open to change and willing to move forward with a better product and what the consumer wants, not what they feel the consumer does/doe...
just imagine... how few years back people swore a scene like this in a video game would never be played on a nintendo product
lol
damn... i was really looking forward to online play for this game
guess it's a rental and not a buy :(
i would like to see this as i have no plans to buy a ps3 anytime soon (expect 1.5-2yrs)
my psp is barely alive and kicking, i'm always waiting on a good 'must have' title
as an avid racing fan and GT fan, you clearly know nothing when it comes to racers... BEST racing sim goes to the GTR series for PC hands down. for console i'll give it to GT simply for it's following but forza series is NOT crap and i feel the 2nd installment will actually pave the way for polyphony to mimmick as best as possible. it actually is better than GT on so many levels. GT2 was the only worthy upgrade from GT1. GT3 felt like a patch upgrade, as did GT4. every time i looked for crash...
i've read that all the US wii needs is a firmware update to unlock the dvd capabilities. it's just a plus, like 360 does dvd, like ps3 does dvd/BR. it isn't a selling feature but it'ld be nice to have when the wii is in a room that doesn't have any dvd players. remember that with certain things nintendo has been a little slow in adapting (current dvd playback, online modes, violent gaming, mature 3rd party titles, etc)
boink, your kid is the only one i have ever heard not wanti...
personally, nintendo needs to lower their VC pricing a bit since psone titles can be had for the same, if not cheaper pricing. reference NES's HOCKEY for 500pts, aka $5.
it's the only thing i have against the wii. i don't mind paying that price for certain games, but others are just... i dunno, a little overpriced
i CAN NOT WAIT for this game
if wifey didn't like video games before, wait until forza 2 ships out! she never experienced the full onset of my GT series (ps/ps2)/GTR series (PC) lol
i've been a GT fan since the beginning, enjoying the minute changes into the next version. i never liked the fact it didn't have online play, kept allowing you to bump and run all around the track without penalties (and no 5secs to drive 30mph wasn't enough), lack of crash physics, and had some extra...
i just read most of the posts on here...
a lot of you guys seriously NEED to do some research on who 'owns' hd dvd/br rights, what has been said in the past from all camps, and the facts behind high def entertainment before you make a post that is completely false.
correction, i'm the sucker who buys the games so ninty will see the $. i'm waiting until i find a game i buy that she won't like... so far that's yet to happen. my girl will play it more than once or twice a month but i'll agree my mother won't. as for my girl, she made me download 2 VC titles, play wiiplay, and wario ware last night alone... she isn't into games like gears, r6v, bf2, gtr or sports like i am... she's that crowd who loves the cutesy girly kiddy games. you know what game she's ...
agree.. you know what i love, the fact that people still try to shunt the wii by comparing the already known by all, graphics; yet refuse to look at the console sales or extemely high demand compared to other consoles... if the system is hyped, and crap in terms of graphics, and gimmicky for the controller, and a phase for being the 'buy it now, forget it later' product... then how come everyone wants one?! how come nongamers like my girlfriend refuses to play anything but the wii? how come i...
i don't know about you guys... but the eye toy was garbage. the concept was ok, but honestly i know NO ONE who bought it or even would consider buying it.
cams should be used for video streaming, video messaging, picture taking, etc.
in the world of business, there's a thing called defensive marketing and strategies. a lot of times you are forced to do something that you aren't happy with due to the fact that the consumer's money is what the business tries to get. it's business, it's money making, it's listening to the demand. MS's hdmi inclusion in their next version of the 360 is to answer to the 'demand' that the consumer believes hdmi is needed for hd entertainment as well as offer the option the consumer wants. it al...
dj, let me ask you something.. have you played a racer with and without force feedback steering wheel? have you done the same with and without rumble? can you tell which is a better version, a better feel of gameplay?! the force feedback and rumble. why? because you'll know when you are taking a turn too tight and hit something like cones or the corner median, because you'll know if you are bumping the guy in front or next to you, because you'll get a sense of feel of acceleration or braking ...
i'm still not sold on how great this game will be regardless of the ratings it recieves... i tried the demo out and it's ok, but not the hype that everyone keeps putting out there. maybe the game itself will be different, i just dont see it right now. lack of rumble though, dont care how you spin it... for a title like this it would make it better. sony is in a pissing contest with immersion and and you sonybots know that rumble is a key feature that would have made games better, like this mo...
i'm a hardcore gamer but still like to play the wii. my girlfriend, who absolutely hates everything gaming (except mario) LOVES the wii. it is a great console to have at parties as it'll be the center of the attention. it's already made many great wiiparties just with wiisports. with time more titles will come out that will draw the party atmosphere as well as bring those hardcore gamers into the franchise. 3rd party support will be had unlike it was with the gc. for my higher def gaming i ha...
dude seriously, grow the F up
