im portuguese but from the states. got a buddy who lives over there, he was one of those who bought the ps3 on launch day. europe is sonyland, portugal is one of sony's dependable reinforcements. when i was there this past summer at worton's i saw ps2 consoles & games, psp and games, but nothing xbox and barely anything nintendo. they LOVE sony products. cost is also more. imagine paying something around $50US for a psp title you can get in the states for $30US. my buddy also is your typi...

i know i said i wouldn't post here anymore due to fanboy idiocy but being an R&D engineer in the medical field and understanding this as a positive to the R&D world in medicine and people in general ill try to explain it as simple as possible... folding@home essentially is ...
better yet, i think i'm done posting on this site. i like reading news and mature responses but the kiddy stuff is ridiculous. seems like people forget how to hold an intelligent conversation or debate, it's just a pot of brand loyalists preaching ZOMFG HI2U FANBOYZ SUXORS PWNED BY BRANDBOTS
i only read 1/2 way through and this BS continues. i'm assuming it's because their's kiddy trolls on here bastardizing the interenet and these boards. i have a message for you all...
GROW THE F(_)CK UP!!!!!!!!!
i'll agree on the sales not being the end all be all to decide. but i'll disagree on calling the wii a toy. if you say the wii is a toy, then the ps3 and 360 are more expensive toys. it's a form of entertainment. i don't listen to what analysts say, usually they make crap up to be noticed or state the obvious. seeing as the wii still has the momentum and games coming that would only work best on the wii i don't think it's crap. i own one and love it. games like golf (tiger woods, although may...
that's my gripe too with this site, other gaming boards and the posters. everyone's willing to jump on a bandwagon that means absolutely nothing. no one's getting paid, no one but gamers looking to get frustrated over opinions care. everyone's willing to call each other a fanboy when they fail to look in the mirror. it seems what interests more to posters is the negative news rather than life, failing to realize this is a form of entertainment.
it's a sad world we live in.

do i live in europe? no, but i have family & friends there
do i have a ps3? not yet, personally it's not worth it yet. i never buy a console around launch time due to lack of games and 'quality' and quantity of launch titles, usually wait a year or so. wii was the exception. i will own a ps3, and BC is a bonus, not a must have like sony preached it to be. friends who do own ps3s are like me, they dont care about the BC but they themselves have stated sony are arrogant misleading fo...
calm?!
how's about this... preach that you'll work on getting the ps3 to be fully BC, not bash the 360 for not being 100% BC when you yourself make a product that doesn't live up to what was promised, and apologize for not living up to these promises even if you have a plan that will fix the issues in the long run.
personally i can care less about BC, but it's a plus for some ps1/ps2/xbox1 classics if u dont have the console or sold it/traded it in
i agree, i want a standard format not a choice. i also want affordable movies, not the $25-40 that these high defs are going for
i refuse to pick a format. i dont have a ps3 so the choice wasn't made for me. BR i believe will win in the long run solely because of the ps3. i think many feel the same, especially since i've seen 10times more promotions for BR than hd dvd. come to think of it, i dont remember the last hd dvd promotion
europe is sony land. everyone knows it. i wonder if people snagged the ps3 preorders to sell on online auction sites like ebay, similar to what you found in the usa and japan. i do know that price is a bigger issue in europe, all their electronics are more expensive in the countries i've visited (portugal, spain, france...). but i agree, preorders means nothing. remember that technically the ps3 has been delayed a whole year in europe, so if preorders weren't filled, i'ld then be afraid
i will not even think twice... there's no way in hell i will buy a psp2. my psp now rarely gets used, even in it's modded state
i'm sorry... home is not mind boggling. it'll get tiring really quick for non sims/second life fans. i think it's great but not a killer app that will pave the future for PSN. i'm not into virtual worlds plagued with advertisements and microtransactions for virtual gear. as for LBP, yeah i'll give them that. looks to be something worthy of a fun side scroller fans
it was expected sony would cover their wounds at gdc but i wouldn't say they made a comeback. c'mon sony, where's t...
pc gaming have been and will continue to take a hit as consoles keep coming up with ways to counter the advantages pcs have. we've seen online multiplayer continue to expand, online service patches and addons (although not custom mods from individuals yet) to ports that now no longer seem to support the pc in favor of the console. with that said, i dont think it will die. i think there will always be a niche for pc gaming, even after the consoles utilize the keyboard and mouse in the same fas...
u have absolutely NO clue on what you are talking about when it comes to racing games. none what so ever. sounds like brand loyalists preaching merda. copy? if that's true then GT series has copied every modable racer before it's time (i know, not many). forza 2 will be AWESOME in it's own way and very well has the momentum and quality to take down GT's dominance in racing 'sims'. im sorry i am a big racing fan and have always loved GT series but every new one just felt like a patch as oppose...
i think what she's getting at is that not everyone's into a sims style environment. not everyone is willing to devote hours to customize a virtual world. i know i can care less about it but my younger cousin would be all over it. i would use home as a means to connect with friends to play games, but i dont want to do it in a world that mimics real life. i love how live is setup, click on person's name and join in. i dont care for side games of pool or arcades, trophy showcases, virtual enviro...
$15 aint bad at all!
if i had a ps3 i sure would be picking up some BR titles for that price. $30 is a different story.
why do i constantly see BR deals, BR news, BR info, BR sales, BR promotion but rarely see HD DVD? this alone can determine success or failure, add in the fact that ps3 plays BR and went straight forward with a stronger forward approach market penetration
to me it doesnt matter much though
which is why i bought my 360 today (2 months ago) and will get a ps3 tomorrow (1-2 years from now)
even though the ps3 or ps3's cell isn't capable of what was mentioned in the article it still is good news in my eyes. if the ps3 is capable of doing anything similar to this in the long run years out, i'll be happy with a ps3 purchase when i make one. i would love to see what this means in terms of gaming in the near future for the ps3, not multiple cell chips running a graphical demo
personally, my 2 cents for what it's worth:
PSP's problem is lack of must own games. it's been out for what, a year or so and i've only played about 3-4 quality titles out of allllll the ones i've tried. a lot of them frustrate me and makes me wish i owned a ds/ds lite. its great that it can do music and video and web browser... but it's doing too much and not focusing on the main emphasis of what the psp is, a portable game unit. 'jack of all trades, master of none'. even upgraded to ...
giving your opinion is one thing
preaching against it like an asstard is another
9/11 will never be funny. i dont know about u but i saw the towers fall in person. not 1000 miles away on some tv program. i saw nyc/nj be on freakin lockdown and people here be all figgity. and worst of all i knew people directly affected by those who died in the towers. luckily the 2 dj friends i had who worked there decided to call out of work and go record shopping
