Of course it'll be a huge tech jump. Moore's Law says that if new consoles come as late as 2014, they should be about 16 times as powerful as the current ones.
If the numbers are to be believed, then:
Steam = 275,000 (PC only)
Retail = 400,000 (split between 360, PS3 and PC)
"We know that Ms. Williams will indeed be making a return in the ME conclusion"
Um, how is this possible? Are decisions from ME1 just being ignored now?
Okay, so 2 to 3 hours of great entertainment are worth a 6.5/10.
Let me ask you this: how can movies of that length be rated any higher then? What about 90 minute movies? They should max out at 4/10.
I don't expect a 10. But 6.5 for Portal 1 is journalism's equivalent of a troll post.
Let's hope that this whole cross-platform gaming thing becomes the norm in the future.
Valve once said that games should be like music. When you buy music, you're not limited to playing it just in your car or just in your stereo. You can play it wherever you like.
Oh yes, between 360 and PS3 it's obvious that the PS3 version is preferrable.
If you have both consoles, then PS3 is the way to go for Portal 2.
I dislike game controllers, prefer playing in 1920x1200 and can get the PC version for $35. If that makes me "a lunatic" then so be it.
People also buy PS2 consoles still. Doesn't mean *I* would want one at this point in time.
I just checked, and my Windows 7 currently consumes about 500 MB. That still leaves games with 5 GB more than on consoles.
Reading would help. The 10x comparison is against 2011 hardware.
<<The 300usd initial price tag is just deluding the people to later on pay more on everything.>>
Yes, that's why consoles are usually sold at a loss for several years. You sucker them in, so that you can then sell them expensive games, DLC, peripherals, hard drives, online accounts etc.
I don't buy the sack either. I just play the sack games I already own.
Since we've done all the work in the ARG, and now playing the Potato Sack games, I don't see why the console versions should get an early release.
PLaying those games now
The analog sticks work using a dead zone. The only position of the stick that doesn't result in movement on screen is the center position.
Because of this, making complex continuous movements is impossible. Try "drawing" an eight on screen with your crosshairs to see what I mean.
Analog input is actually a good thing. However, the problem with analog sticks is:
a) they cover only a tiny area oompared to the big movements a mouse can make - so input is much less precise and requires a certain amount of acceleration to be usable at all
b) Due to the nature of analog sticks, you cannot make continuous movements. You move the stick in one direction, then back to the middle, then in another direction, back to the middle etc.
Indeed. People always make it sound as if you can have only one but not the other.
The ARG has contained numerous hints at the Borealis, but they may all be Portal related because Aperture Science has the Borealis.

Actually, let's get some PS3 games on Steam. In a real family it's all about give and take, not just about take.
But that ain't gonna happen of course.
