The PS3 implementation of Folding@Home actually CURES cancer? Holy crap!
On PC I'm only folding proteins. Sony products are truly magic I suppose.
There are almost a thousand games on sale if the Specials tab is to be believed. Gosh, I need to grab myself some coffee and start browsing.
Haha, as if the Square Enix pack is the only news-worthy deal. Steam is literally lighting up with sales like a Christmas tree as we speak.
Valve's own collection is only $25 btw. Probably the best value for money you will ever see.
There will be different applications and games for PC. It will be less "full body" focussed.
Of course nothing stops them from porting over the 360 games, but I don't think there's much of a market for this on PC.
Sony people and their obsession with "exclusive" things.
As a PC only gamer I can tell you this: If something is exclusive to your system then I simply won't buy it. However, if it's on MY system as well, then I WILL buy it, increasing the publisher's revenue.
Example: Alan Wake is exclusive. It cost them my $50. Would have bought for PC on day one.
Yes, and Splinter Cell as well. Gotta love backwards compatibility with modern resolutions. But they love to double dip, so just let them have their fun.
If the publishers are smart, they'll make these 720p. That way they can release 1080p versions once the PS4 is out. Milk them as much as possible.
He was making fun of the people who say that it's just an Eyetoy.
Just give it up. These people need to console themselves about not owning proper hardware by convincing themselves that proper hardware costs $10 grand.
I agree with Thanatos. The look of this game reminds me of a mixture between Halo and Killzone. I really don't dig this at all.
It's hard to describe, but every screenshot I see just looks synthetic. The New York environment looks nothing like (a destroyed) New York. I think Crysis 1 was able to capture its tropical setting much better.
Is there a reason why you posted data from 2008? Oh I see, it's because in 2010, the Cell computers aren't up top.

Why did you have to pick the Green 500 list to begin with? That gives measurements of performance per Watt.
Looking at the TOP500, we see 4 Xeons and 4 Opterons in the Top 10.
And the full list of 500 super...
<<We're seeing PS3 attacking a visual problem using a method that not even the most high-end GPUs are using.>>
Let's see, why do most "high-end GPUs" not use MLAA? Oh yes, that's right. Because it's an inferior technique (which makes sense, considering it's a computationally inexpensive post process).
Problems with MLAA:
1) Loss of high frequency detail
2) Cannot anti-alias image aress with a thickness...
Yes, who the heck approved this? The paper is from 2007 and called "Industry Trends".
Looking at trend predictions from three years ago is utterly ridiculous.
Pretty much. First party developers need to spread the bullcrap.
For one thing, GT5 is 33% below 1080p. But regardless of this, it was Naughty Dog who talked about "no limits". And their games are 720p.
No limits? Then why are the Uncharted games in 720p, not 1080p? Please explain how this qualifies as "no limits".
Last I checked, GTA4 performed better on 360 than PS3. So what's with this "dumbed down for the box" business?

The hardware is already capable of the higher resolution (as seen on the PC streams). But due to a software limitation, the 360 doesn't utilize it yet.
P.S.: I did not disagree with you. You just asked a question.
People are just repeating what they heard from some Sony engineer. 30fps is easily enough to track even fast motion. Not for high-end Hollywood motion capture, but certainly for games which work with lots of interpolation.
Just shoot a video at 30fps, using a fast shutter speed, and then look at it frame by frame. Even if you move VERY quickly, there is plenty of data for a tracker to figure out the motion paths.
Not in the mind of pubescent misogynists I guess.
PC version is obviously the best one.
