It's higher res than PAL. PAL is a 4:3 aspect ratio with a pixel aspect of 1.066, which gives a resolution of 720x576.
That's not surprising. Germany is a bit of PC gamer nation:

And N4G will support the decision.
Jeeeeeeeez, if you don't like this benchmark, then use Google and look at others. They all confirm the same thing.
Anandtech 6970 Review:

High Tesselation GTX 580 = 1027
High Tesselation 6970 = 499
Maybe you should take a look at some benchmarks. Heaven with highest tesselation, HAWX 2, Stonegiant. The 69 series is pretty far behind.

Why are you freaking out? The first Crysis ran fine on AMD cards. Personally, I prefer Nvidia for Physx and Cuda, but none of this is in Crysis 2, so it doesn't matter which card you own.
That's what you get for playing Wii on an HDTV.
Here's another one. How DARE I compare a game from 2003 to Alan Wake? I'm such a troll.
http://img88.imageshack.us/...
Look at the first image. It's oversampled to a point where there is no visible aliasing. The explosion is Photoshopped in* and they used a High Pass filter to bring out shadow detail. So yes, it's a bullshot.
*How do I know? Because the explosion shows compositing artifacts: there are dark areas around the fireball. This happens because they used a stock explosion with black background and comped it in with an Overlay type blend mode. They didn't even bother to el...
For some reason these people are oblivious to how muddy their textures are. Probably because they've never seen a real high-res texture.
I remember posting this texture comparison between Max Payne 2 and Alan Wake on the official Alan Wake forum. Got kicked off the forum for posting it.

Do you see how riddled with aliasing that screenshot (and the freaking HUD) is?
That's caused by:
1) No AA in the game options
2) Nearest Neighbor resampling of the screenshot
EDIT: Do they think it looks better?
I quote, screenshot 3:
<<The jungle in Crysis looked great as well, but we prefer the lighting of CryENGINE 3. Awesome, Crytek!>>

Not High. High looks almost as good as Very High.
Look at the very first screenshot:

Check out the HUD of Crysis 1. It's so pixelated you can't even properly read the numbers in the bottom right. Talk about a biased comparison. Videogameszone has an agenda of course. It's a console websi...
Crysis 2 does not look particularly realistic. The lighting and color scheme they chose makes the game appear quite artificial.
And Killzone? Artistic? It's an accumulation of brown grunge textures. Doesn't get much more boring than that.
Can somebody explain how Little Big Planet works? It looks quite interesting, but I don't fully understand it.
I watched this Mirror's Edge video in the article, and I wonder how you get those assets (the rooftops and textures) into the game? Do you choose among pre-built assets or can you create your own?
Also, please don't hate, but isn't it a bit inconvenient to build levels on a game controller? Does somebody have a link to video where I c...
Motion blur is not a cheap trick at all. Every movie you've ever seen exhibits it.
Most movies are shot in 24 frames per second with an exposure time of 1/48s. This produces significant motion blur but makes the footage look reasonably smooth.
Crysis 1 has excellent looking motion blur. It adds a whole lot to the realism of the game.
Well, I wouldn't expect the COD kids to understand. COD multiplayer is just as bad.
The multiplayer is limited to 6-on-6? I guess that means I won't spend one second playing it.
Not that this is a surprise, because the map in the multiplayer trailer looked ridiculously small.
"...currently ho-humming its way around Metacritic with a score of 77"
This quote shows everything that's wrong with video game reviews. The scores are way too inflated. Since when is a 7.7/10 "ho-hum"? Compare with Imdb. A 7.7/10 is a good score. An 8.0/10 gets you into the Top 250 movies of all time.
There are only TWO movies with an average score of more than 9/10. Which makes sense, considering 10/10 equals perfection. And nothing ...
Those specs are so far off, it shows you have no clue. 6GB of ram? What the heck for? I played in 2560x1600 on 2GB. So tell me, how is this possible?
