@Pillsbury1
Well, it'll be $100 a year when I get a PS4. Will you continue judging me from your lofty throne at that point or will you keep your snarky comments to yourself?
Well, digital games may get that big, but internet speeds will increase too. However, they don't seem to increase proportionally, so it depends.
@curtis92
"Except... it's on 360 as well. And sounds like virtually the same experience. It's also on PC. This is where having your own studio developing a game comes in handy. It allows for ACTUAL exclusives."
Here's the thing... There are about 80 million Xbox 360's and 80 million PS3's out there (disregarding hardware failure - let's not broach that subject, please). So far, X1 has sold about 3.5 million and PS4 about 6 mi...
I think that Rockstar wants us to forget that those games ever existed lol
I've been a LIVE subscriber since 2004, and honestly, I specifically pay for the multiplayer. Anything else that they add is cool with me (i.e. most of the things people whine about being behind a paywall). However, I really can't bring myself to complain about a free game, regardless of how old it is. PS+ definitely has a better selection, but again, my $50 (give or take) has always been primarily to play online.
Respawn never mentioned 900p.
OMG yes and don't forget the nightmare that was the huts by the water on Sujo. I've damned near broken my controller and headset tripping over mines there!
You did read the article where it details that the difference is due to an enormous amount of sound files, right?
@cybm3112
"(conspiracy theories)"
Oh, come on. If there was a parity clause, both versions would be running at that bizarre 960p or whatever resolution. Not everything in gaming is Microsoft moneyhatting.
There are so many possibilities with something like this. inFamous could have "heal VS absorb" and other things that could influence whether you go hero or villain, for example.
@AGaryColemanClone
"If it was on all platforms no one would care about the game."
Nobody would care about the debut game from the studio founded by the creators of Call of Duty?
Pffftt. Please.
I can't believe this is real life.
Even with rudimentary graphics, could a game with the scope of GTA be made on a Super NES and remain effective?
No. Now stop sounding foolish.
@Irishguy95
Oh stop - the game looks phenomenal, even with crappy YouTube compression. Dynamic shadows aren't really paramount in this kind of game anyway.
Oh, I agree. This is Penello-level spin lol
But, in all honesty, the MP looks good - I even understand why they had to do this technique with the particle effects and everything. It just doesn't hit the same clarity as the SP. They could have explained why sooner, but they stuck with the 1080p SP/MP until they got called out on it.
@Lukas
They're basically changing the definition of 1080p so that they can call the MP portion 1080p.
It's like if I flash a wad of cash and claim I have a $1,000, and somebody says: "hey! You only have $500 but you folded the bills and counted them twice", and I retort with "no, this is the new $1,000 where perception is more important than reality."
I said it before and I'll say it again - Microsoft never meant to declare war on consumers. They were attempting to kill the second hand market, namely GameStop and the like. To a point, I agreed with that cause - GameStop's used games practices are disgusting in terms of buy values vs trade values and the constant pushing of used vs mew, which does not reimburse publishers and developers for their investment and work.
All that said, gamers felt they would have suffer...
MisterX is probably having some kind of gasm right now.
On topic: what could it be? Taken at face value and disregarding potential hyperbole, it sounds almost too major to be a game. A handheld console (uggh)? Maybe acquiring a major publisher or developer (yay)? Free backward compatibility (doubtful)?
I hope it's actually close to a huge announcement and not PR speak.
It's from PlayStation Lifestyle. Are you serious?
I'm very much a huge Xbox fan, but no one game is going to help Xbox One pass PS4. It is going to take a large body of quality exclusives, changes to corporate philosophy that are palpable to gamers, and a clear illustration and justification of the price at ALL price points, even when they drop. The March update and Titanfall are the beginning, and Halo and Quantum Break are future steps. They have to keep going though - no resting on laurels, no complacency, no retreat. If they want to ...
