I like the crowd reactions though (whether they are piped through the speakers or not).
@AGaryColemanClone
No problem! I agree with your sentiment as well. 51 million is attainable with the amount of PS4's already sold plus the next 1.5 - 2.5 years of sales.
@AGaryColemanClone
"51 million PS4s sold in 2016 seems a quite reasonable and safe prediction."
51 million consoles sold in one year is 4.25 million sold per month. That is almost impossible.
I think you mean: "PS4's lifetime sales will hit 51 million units by sometime in the year 2016."
Shhhhh... If you listen closely,you can almost hear your bubbles popping.
Judgment campaign was missing the emotional punch of the previous games. The multiplayer was a complete departure from past games. The always-on crosshairs took the hardcore level way down and the DBNO mechanic being missing from most modes made it feel less like a Gears game and more like something else.
However, the Reaper Easter Egg on Library is one of the greatest things ever. Not enough to redeem the whole game, but utterly cool as its own entity.
Konami E3 2010... when everything lost its mind.
"8. Call of Duty does not appeal to the older generation no more..."
Did a fifth grader write this, or was it simply somebody with poor English skills and/or little to no journalistic talent?
@rdgneoz3
"The top of the page mentions "In fact both the new consoles have slower CPUs", bringing in the PS4. And every other article about DX12 mentions it will put the xbone on par with the PS4 or make it better."
That is probably the weakest excuse to bring up the PS4, but whatever. Also, most articles talk about making the existing hardware more capable through optimization and don't even mention power in relation to the PS4. You ...
@pop_tarts
"The whole angry joe...so tell me what e3 you wen't to that they reversed the DRM looks like SoulSercher was right"
For the love of... do I have to draw it out in crayon again? Okay, so I can't draw in the comments section, but I will explain it... very... dramatically.
1. The article is about Phil Spencer stating that E3 is all about the hardcore gamers.
2. NegativeCreep427 said that E3 has alway...
@SoulSercher620
"The XB1 reveal conference and DRM they were going to implement last year says otherwise"
That's cool that you noticed that and all, but we're talking about E3.
From the article:
"Already in beta, this highly sought after feature is arguably the most anticipated part of this generation of consoles."
No. Just, no. I'm looking forward to playing NEW games designed for the hardware that I spent 500 or 400 bucks for, not streaming games from previous generations.
I don't know why you would get tons of disagrees - Microsoft had a better E3 last year in terms of content. Sony got the better reaction because of two things - price and lack of DRM. Otherwise, their show was mostly indies and multiplats.
I would love to see a Battletoads reboot come out of left field, but I kinda doubt that that will ever happen. However, with difficult games like Demon/Dark Souls getting popular again, you never know!
@DVS-Zev
"Does that discredit the excellent points he brings up tho? No? So what's your point?"
Not entirely, but the fact that he doesn't support console gaming has to mean something. Consoles are competition to him and he has every reason to downplay them coming to the area where he works. Also, the "irrelevant" comment was flung at Cliffy B by TONS of people on this site to discredit him, and he has made games that people actual...
@morganfell
The same American McGee that hasn't been relevant in over a decade and doesn't develop games for consoles?
Apparently you cared enough to comment.
On topic: a release date of the DLC would be nice.
@mikeslemonade
"So a 200m loss is actually one of the better case scenarios."
The $200 million loss is in ADDITION to their earlier estimate of a $1.07 billion loss, for a total of a $1.27 billion loss.
No company can lose over a billion dollars and call it one of their better scenarios.
I haven't been able to play COD or BF4 since Titanfall because the movement seems so slow and grounded. This looks like it will be a lot more fast paced and vertical. I'm reasonably optimistic!
It probably won't catch up to PS4 in global sales, but the US and UK are still up for grabs. They need to deliver high quality exclusive games and stay transparent when it comes to policies and the general direction for the brand. Phil Spencer as the head of the division is key to doing all of the aforementioned, and was the best decision out of a lot of their better more recent decisions after that disastrous reveal.
The E3 presentation was great and showed off plenty of games. You're thinking of the initial reveal, which was focused on the media side of things.
