Not entirely, but the new DirecX will increase the ability of the Xbox One - this cannot be disputed. Isn't a significant increase in performance a welcome thing? And besides - gains don't have to be relative to a competitor to be good.

I never said that they weren't in demand. Goku781 inferred that Xbox Ones were piled high to the ceilings in every store he went to, but that there were only PS4s at one GameStop. The data on the link that I provided counters his claim about PS4 availability, or at least calls his anecdotal evidence into question.

What in the actual eff? Why aren't they on the list??? The Last of Us was THE story-driven game of this past generation, taking nothing away from the Uncharted series.
I'm so glad they're changing it - I'm at Level 49 on Gen 5 and I still only have 1 Gooser. I know I CAN do it, but it's hard when you actually HAVE to do it.

The Arcade difficulty is waaaaaaaaaay off. I'ma pretty good player, and I had to go down to easy. By the time I get to the last two opponents on easy, the CPU is responding instantaneously to my button presses with the correct moves that counter what I'm trying to do. Fix it, please.
I actually might move up my timetable on getting a PS4 to when this comes out. The PS3 version was among my favorites of the generation, and I can only imagine how much better it will be supercharged for next gen. Please Sony - make a custom bundle!

Bull. Look at most of the DX12 articles on this site. Heck - look at just about any article dealing with X1 hardware. Your idea with the codes fails because not every game has multiplayer. Furthermore, not every game has a multiplayer significant enough that people will pay extra just to play it. Even more important, some people just don't play multiplayer. So you have a huge portion of resales that wouldn't even support the publishers and developers under your proposed system. That doesn't solve anything.

The mindset was never to "screw the consumer". They wanted to gain some control over the second-hand market and get money on used games to go back to developers and publishers.
