This dragged on long enough. Now, this doesn't necessarily mean that rumble control is coming to the PS3, but the door is now open. It's funny; just recently Phil Harrison says rumble is "last gen," and now we may see rumble in the PS3. There are times when Sony's various spokespeople don't seem to know what their counterparts are saying. Still, this could be good news for PS3 fans who miss rumble control.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Let this happen, Peter.
My BB store takes about the same amount of time to move the same amount of PS3 units. For example, we received 30 units right after Christmas, and it took until the end of the month to move 2/3 of them (the rest we sent to other stores, smaller ones which had sold out). 360 sold very well the first 2 weeks of the year, then slowed down for about a month, only to pick up quite a bit over the past 2 weeks. That's one store, in one city, so take it as you will. My .02 worth.
MS probably needs to dump the Core edition, too.
Alan Wake * Army of Two * Assassin's Creed * Bioshock * GTA IV * Guitar Hero 2 * Half-Life 2: Orange Box * Halo 3 * Mass Effect * PGR 4 *
WOW. I'm picky as hell when it comes to games, and nearly every one of those is a "must-buy" for me. They forgot a few, tho: Too Human, Forza 2, Blue Dragon, Fable 2, and Stranglehold. It's a good time to be a gamer!
My wife calls herself a "Halo widow." She's not looking forward to Halo 3. :)
Well, here's some anecdotal evidence: My BB store has not received a single 20GB unit from Sony in more than 2 months. Two of my friends, who work at Circuit City and Gamestop respectively, say much the same. Our store system lists the 20GB model as "discontinued." Something's going on here, and Sony needs to either ship them to store or simply do away with the model.
I'm keeping mine until all of my old Xbox games are 360-compatible. Favorites like D&D Heroes and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath aren't playable yet. Once the full BC happens, I'll probably sell it. A local game store gives $50 cash, $75 store credit for working Xboxes.
Army of Two * Assassin's Creed * Devil May Cry 4 * GTA IV * Lair * Mercenaries 2 * MGS4 * Motorstorm * Stranglehold * Warhawk *
Impressive list, although at least a few of these are coming to the 360, and a few others are rumored to be. Compare it to 360's forthcoming games like Forza 2, BioShock, Too Human, Mass Effect, and, of course, Halo 3, and you see that it's a good year to be a gamer. Notice, though, what's missing: No Gran Turismo or FFXIII, and no mention of Heavenly...
I submitted this one too...you must have beaten me to it! His "Ten things..." columns are generally accurate critiques, and yes, fanboys, he's done the 360, Wii, and others, as well, so he (and I) aren't picking on Sony. This just happens to be his latest one.
Flame on! Let the fanboyism commence.
But this is discouraging news for those waiting for a lower price point. Seriously, this could hurt Sony, especially if MS commences with not just one, but potentially two price cuts by the time Sony manages a reduction. This holiday season, with systems readily available, may force Sony's hand early if they don't see significant sales by the end of the year. My .02 worth.
Wish I could get this for my 360. Dragons + massive battles + gorgeous graphics + (hopefully) good gameplay = one (slightly) disappointed 360 customer. Ah well. Enjoy, PS3 owners. Guess I'll have to make do with Halo 3. :)
Between this...and Halo 3...and Bioshock...and Mass Effect...and Too Human...and Forza 2...and Alan Wake...and Assassin's Creed...it's a good time to have a 360.
It's gorgeous...and maybe the reason for "barely fitting" is the sheer amount of graphical detail. Didn't think of that.
I think Sony needs to redesign the system (two thumbsticks, built-in memory), make more quality games, and dump UMD movies and go to a downloadable format. For a first-generation effort, the PSP isn't bad, and has made a dent in what has been Nintendo's territory. (One can't help but wonder, however, if DS doesn't stand for "Dominates Sony." Jeez. That thing's on fire). My .02 worth.
She can play with my Wii anytime. (OK, that's it. I swear that's my last Wii joke. Honest). Seriously, tho: She's hot.
Don't care how many discs it's on. This will be excellent. But I am wondering why Oblivion, with its massive world and 100+ hours of gameplay, fit on one disc, and Mass Effect, rumored to be about 50 hours, barely fit on one disc. Lots of HD cutscenes? Multiple storylines/quests that extend the length of the game? Or did Bethesda use better compression techniques? Just curious. I'll buy this on day one.
Both Gears and Resistance are first-rate shooters, and both provide a great gaming experience. Complimenting a quality game--even if it is for the competition--shows class.
Please officially confirm/deny this and stop the endless speculations, rumors, etc. This is getting old.
