"The PlayStation 3 was released amid huge hype in November, but quickly became a huge disappointment. A $600 price tag and games that are identical to or worse than what's available for the $400 Xbox 360 will do that."

That's a little harsh and unmerited, and certainly saps some credibility from the article.

I do agree, tho, that F1 was disappointing: It looked good, but gameplay was OK. Still, I wouldn't give it an "F." A C+ is more accurate...

The basic design is more or less the same...but it's smoother, more organized, and less cluttered. Love that counter at the top representing the number of Halo 2 players currently online. (Wait until H3...they'll need a bigger counter!)

That's been one of my gripes with my 360...lack of BC games. Most of the big titles are covered, but I still can't play Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath on my 360. (Highly, highly recommended game, BTW).

Now Sony's doing the same with the PS3, with much the same results: Disappointed gamers.

I think BC needs to be consistent: Either make all games BC, or if not, at least as many as possible as quickly as possible. No more of this half-@ssed stuff.

...All I know is that I'm getting DMC4 for my 360, and my friends who own a PS3 can enjoy it too. Win/win for gamers.

But, this DOES hurt Sony a little...not as much as migrating FFXIII or MGS4 would, but this is definitely a win for MS.

Seriously, I love my 360, but my wife and kids aren't all that interested in it. But the Wii...that seems to be one thing we all agree on.

And that's why the Wii is winning (so far): The gaming market has absolutely exploded in the past few years and has reached beyond the hardcore gamers to the casual gamers. Enter the Wii. With its user-friendly controls and clever marketing, the Wii has found that niche that has eluded so many so far: Families. Depending on who you ask, it ...

Pretty cool. Most of the Wii add-ons we've seen have been cheap and of low quality. This actually looks sharp...and would blend well with my silver-cased electronics.

Gotta agree with deepbrown, tho: There's a really odd texture on that dirt in shot #4, but maybe it's something that can be ironed out as the game gets polished. Otherwise, this looks incredible. But how will it play? Are we talking Motorstorm, or just another offroad racer? (I use Motorstorm as example because it's the current standard for many people). If--IF--it plays well, I'll consider it, even though I don't usually like racing games. But something exceptional could change my mind.

I'm not speaking of what we use in store. (I probably should have said that in my original message--sorry). I'm speaking of customer feedback and of returns.

Wear and tear: The connectors on Acoustic Research and React cables tend to slip out of their plastic housing after a while, causing the whole cable to fall off. Once that happens, the only two solutions are: Crazy glue, or a new cable. That's what I'm speaking of. Sorry for any miscommunication.

I posted something on this weeks ago. Yes, it's true. My store, along with others, have the 20GB listed as 'discontinued." That makes sense, as we have not received a single shipment of 20GB models since DECEMBER. Yah, I think it's gone! Seriously, I have friends who work at Circuit City and at Gamestop who tell much the same tale.

There is a drawback to this, tho: People who wanted the $500 model--especially for Blu-Ray--have been left in the cold. Granted, the built in ...

More games for the PS3! Now I'm beginning to lose any reason to criticize it! ;)

Seriously, it's about time that PS3 gamers had something new to play. Resistance was only going to take them so far; now they have Motorstorm, Oblivion, FEAR, Armored Core, Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell, and many more to play. Between those titles (and more) and the 360's ridiculous spread of games coming between now and then end of the year, it's good to be a gamer.

Working for Best Buy has shown me that there are some differences between cables at various price points. Truthfully, the differences are slight when it comes to picture quality--in other words, barely noticeable. The better quality cables tend to last longer, though. For example, the connections on the Acoustic Research HDMI cables tend to wear out quickly--within a year, sometimes less--whereas the Monster cables don't have that problem.

My point is this: You can get a cheap...

Looks like fun. This is one thing the 360 is missing: Fun action-adventure platformers like this one.

I knew there was a reason for my saving some Live points for a while. Can't wait.

Katamari is totally addictive. Definite plus for the 360, and likely to capture more casual/family gamers.

Warhammer sounds like a good strategy/action title. If it's anything like the pen-and-paper game that spawned it, I'll probably like it.

I'm not a fan of flight sims, though with Blazing Angels (o.k.) and Over G Fighters (so-so) being the best the 360 currently has to offer, I'll take a look at Ace Combat 6. Personally, though, I'd rather have Crimson Skies...

Can't believe I missed BioShock, Two Worlds, and Too Human. ESPECIALLY BioShock; that's been on my "must-have" list for a while now. I guess I need to either get a second job, or start visiting the local blood bank.

"Correction: It's good to have an xbox 360 right now."

I'm going to go broke between now and Christmas. My wife sometimes calls herself a "Xbox widow." Funny thing is, I've gotten her hooked on Hexic.

Fan: Loves their system, loves good games, acknowledges that the competition also has something to offer. (I, for one, would love to have Lair for my 360). Also willing to buy multiple systems if given good reasons, regardless of who makes them.

Fanboy: Irrational, ignorant, foolhardy individual whose slathering devotion to a single game/company/console makes them blind to everything else. Unwilling and unable to accept criticism of said game/company/console, regardless of how ...

Assuming all those games meet their release dates, then yes, the near future is pretty bright for the 360. Throw in a price cut (you hear me, MS?) and you'll see a lot of new 360 buyers.

PS3 probably can't match any kind of price drop, but they do have a decent stable of games in store. I think this fall belongs to 360, but after this stretch of great games, what will they have to sustain momentum? Can Sony steal some of that next year with FFXIII and MGS4?

And ...
