Let alone "better" HDTVs. The next hurdle will be selling 3D-compatible sets to the masses.

The size of the game alone will make it look a bit inferior on the 360, you'd need a few more DVDs to get it looking better.

Everybody should check out the 1080p trailer. We all know the heart of the Final Fantasy games lies in the CG videos. If you see that trailer, and still think of getting the DVD version, well that's your choice, but you will be missing out a lot from that aspect of the game alone.

Personally I wish they'd just release a 12 hour BluRay movie, an...

Full of dark, seedy environments and sleazy characters?

Is that these are the same reviewers that probably game FFX, FFXII and any other FF game near perfect marks.

Despite almost having no continuity between games, all 3D FF games are half-linear, and half-open. Why should this game get lower marks if it did the same thing as all the others?

Also, since it's fairly evident that Squenix aren't too proud of the 360's screenshots (doctoring 360 controls on a PS3 screenshot will tend to show your cards), I wonder if the revi...

In the Sega Megadrive/genesis collection, you can earn a Gold Trophy for getting a score of over 10 million in the first level of Sonic Spinball. I did it my first attempt, and was no where near to completing the level!

Secondly in Prince of Persia, you get a trophy for starting a new game... can't get much easier than that!

The company that said it will charge more for games, asks manufacturers to make less money on their consoles?

I hope the reply from the big three was a bilingual F.U.

You've clearly never played a God of War game if you don't think it can include trippy camera angles.

I suppose that shot Alan with his back against the door as an out-of-focus Axe blade pieces through to his side is perfectly plausible for a TPS, and couldn't possibly be a cutscene.

Better comparrison... how many 2009/10 360 exclusives score better than a 2006 game?

Except that the GoW3 trailer is footage from the game... Quite a few cutscenes in the AW trailer.

If you can name another western game featuring a guy and a flashlight, running through spooky locals, solving paranormal phenomena, I'd like to hear it!

Actually, Guerilla games, Naughty Dog and Remedy are all 2nd party studios.

In that they chose to make exclusives.

The difference is that GG, Naughty Dog don't have Sony breathing down their neck every year asking them to start over, as MS have done with Remedy 3 times already.

Child, Grandparent, Zombie, Particularly Clever Hamster.

These guidelines will work with anybody because they're so bloody obvious.

They took a promising concept and made Alone in the Dark with a hint of Gears of War.

There are plenty of better alternatives already on PC, I'm sure.

7/7 from Edge's PS3 Review system!

Bioshock 2 gets an 8, because it's a marginally improved sequel in the First Persona perspective!

ME2 gets a whopping 9, because I'm sure it satisfies the reviewer's urge to feel like they're in a relationship.

Props all around!

Spelling mistakes, and excessive ...'ing aside, did you even play any of the PS3 exclusives you're bashing?

5959d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

Dark, Torchlight, Eerie forest, Mystery and forgotten memories.

Not at all like Alone in the Dark.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but after 7 years of development I was expecting something a bit different. Hopefully it'll have the stylish narrative of Max Payne to keep it fresh.

It's not that the PS3 is complex, it's different.

A lot of devs, once they get used to the PS3's architecture, really appreciate how they can have several things going on all at once. Essentially it's what benefits we were told Multi-core CPU's would bring, but they can actually use it (PC devs still have to make a game that will run on older single Core CPUs).

The problem is that when you port from the x86 architecture to the CELL there's a lot of resources that are...

Where the hell are you getting your figures from?

If PS3 owners are playing only exclusives, then multi-plat devs need to buck up and make a game worth their attention!

Seriously... is this Alone in the Dark??

I thought Alan Wake was meant to be a new innovative title? And they do Alone in the Dark?!?

But I think we were expecting more from the sequel. Has UE3's limit been hit?

It'll be interesting to see how UE4 improves things, but I can't help but think there are already several engines out there that handle natively half the stuff that needs to be added to a UE-based game: Use of high shadow-bias and definition for one comes fairly easily to Monolith's Lithtech engine.
