It was a great idea, but even the Sims Online had to be pulled eventually. Really not something that works too well online since micromanagers don't often co-exist in peace.
Might work better in a traditional offline-game, with online cities uploaded to a central server to be downloaded (like Little Big Planet, e.g.)
You have a Pandora on Pre-Order?
I'd love to get one, but until it's released I couldn't trust them with my money!
The 360 holds its ground, but PC has the edge.
However it should be noted that Bioware won't waste time and money in creating textures (and other non-scaling assets) that will look their best on both 720p screen, and the variable screen resolutions of PC.
I suspect whilst PC resolutions are higher, the textures will suffer from greater tiling. Though post-processing will take care of a lot of that.
Though Apple's ideas seem to be:
- Make is simple
- Charge 3 times the price
- Release a new, slightly improved version every 6 months.
Cost will be the deciding factor, and Wii is already the honorary "Apple" of the current gen.
Thanks Kotaku, for making news out of olds.
You seem to think a review score should be some democratic vote. And I never said I didn't like Halo 34, so please stop being so defensive.
I merely think that reviewers score games far too highly these days. There are more games getting >90% scores each year - and it's not because they've improved all that much.
I'm sorry scores mean so much to you.
@DMason
Just because you don't see the point, doesn't mean there isn't one. I was implying that ...
You'll like MW2 better. Thanks for that insight...
I doubt it improves much of anything, except the load times.
ME2 probably does deserve a high score, however what reviewers call a high score (7/10 or higher) differs from what publishers call a high score (9/10 or higher).
I wouldn't mind, but even magazines like EDGE flip flop between "we have a responsibility to give a game its correct score, 6/10 is a good score for a game" and "it's good, really, honestly. (Can I has Cheque Now?)".
@Venatus-Deus
Because nothing has dethroned Halo 3 after 2 years...
That would explain Edge giving Halo 3 a perfect score.
I think you should decide if you can't stop thinking about this game, after you've played it for a month.
you surprise us every time...
That is actually a very good way of looking at it, pay £3 and get the DLC 4 months earlier than PC.
Though I'd love it if the consoles got the mission editor :(
So why do they bother including such harsh copy protection in the first place? Are they waiting for no one to give a crap?
Because the only time that happens is for the games that aren't worth pirating in the first place!
Children should be seen and not heard.
More applicable to PSN than Live, in any case.
Some people think they'll be getting a 1080p Halo Reach, apparently.
They really don't do the fanbase justice.
But reviewers are throwing 'round perfect scores like they're candy.
How many other perfectly scoring games can anybody say they played longer than a month? ME2 has an advantage since it is and RPG and they tend to play out longer.
I just can't shake the feeling we're all just inflating scores.
You've shown the fans something they'll never see!
No Gears of War, or Half Life?
And God of War overrated? It's had 3 games, and makes a splash for a month or two, then it disappears.
Others work best as a dictatorship.
All the same, somebody should have acted as Editor of MGS4, and trimmed all that dialogue!
Edit: Jebus I didn't say MGS4 was horrible! It just needed some damned editorial control. Have you seen Apocalypse Now: Redux (with the full length, uncut scenes), it's far worse than the original because it drags too much. Same thing here.
Hi should have released a cut version, then a year later, release a directors cut for tho...
1) Choose your game carefully: She probably wouldn't like a bloody action film with little plot, so don't pick that kind of game to demonstrate:
a) Either a good story and/or characters: Uncharted, Prince of Persia, Brutal Legend
b) A game where you create: Pikmin, Civilization, Katamari
c) Just plain Fun: Mario, House of the Dead Overkill (blood and gore offset by how little seriousness it takes itself)
2) Let her see how much fun you have playing a game.
