It's on Disk in the EU for any US PS3 owners who don't want to download nearly 20GB.

They cocked the first's release up badly: 2 years late, only subtitles (because they take 2 years, don't they?), no DLC... unless you buy it from US PSN which gets you DLC and Trophies (No trophies for EU? WTF).

Let's hope 2 will be more consistent across regions.

Not having the game cut is an incentive to buy? Have you thought this through?

But I know what you mean, Y4 at least won't leave me wondering what I might be missing out on.

Still haven't bought Y3... Since the UK has the premium version, I have no incentive to buy a cropped game until it reaches a nice price :)

Their old one for Half Life was modified Quake 1 engine... Anything was better than that!

In terms of features though, Source didn't have anything other engines didn't already have (aside from maybe facial expressions) - In fact it was a step backwards in some places: No real-time reflections (like in a mirror or water surface), they invested a great deal in multiple camera angles, but we didn't see much of it until Portal.

Looks like a toothpaste brand.

I thought it looked great, it was 1080p and whilst there was some geometry pop-up (nothing games like Oblivion or Fallout 3 don't have), I won't hold that against an early PS3 title that looked otherwise brilliant. I can understand the frustration over the controls (but if you've played a Wii game Lair isn't much different).

Perhaps it's easier to slag off a game by making up stuff rather than just admit the press were overly harsh at the time?

Actually the Boris Johnson and Survival horror thing sounds awesome :)

Except that Thief 3 sold more than 1 and 2 combined. If you were a business man, which would you base 4 on?

I'd love to see more intricate random events where somebody gets robbed and you have to chase down the felon. Rather than just spawning some gang memebers that just shoot up the place.

Good job Lens of Truth.

Nice to see one of the reviewers had sense: Whoever wins, we all lose with Skate 3.

Bought it at launch, played through 3 times.

I'll go back to it the same frequency I have for re-watching movies like Se7en or Silence of the Lambs.

Is offset by the fact it will probably be more like Thief 3, than Thief 2 or 1.

It wasn't even the good kind of cliffhanger where you're left wondering "Well how's he gonna get out of this one?".

Not it was the bad kind were he has no chance, left to die, the bad guys win.

Definitely made you wanting more!

I'm not sure how well it'll fare after Move is released. Why do I think this? How many awesome Eye-cam only games can you think of?

It'll have to appear new and revolutionary, but once people see a sword-fight with move, that's it.

1) What the hell was wrong with the cover system? It placed you right into a fire-fight, and made you chose your cover carefully. What's wrong with just crouch-moving? It's about as intuitive to a soldier as flailing your arms around screaming "Shoot Me!"

2) Oh heavens, Guerilla want to add a bit of variety. I wished they would just stick to a single corridor!

3) Maybe I don't want a land shark or a shrink ray in my gritty WWII in Space ...

That'll certainly make it worthwhile!

But more beautiful than a 1st party exclusive 4 years into the life cycle? Doubtful.

They poured their hearts out in Heavenly Sword, and it does show - it's a beautiful game, even by today's standards... but I doubt they'd be able to make a multi-plat look as good, let alone as good as Uncharted.

Time will tell.

And then they add Oddworld (awesome game), and Toy Story 2.

Thanks... I guess.
