To be fair, loot crates and MT's aside of course, Battlefront is actually very fun. They made so many improvements over the last one its ridiculous. There's actual content in this. They added recoil to the weapons. Galactic Assault is an awesome mode now instead of just 3 walker assault maps.
It still needs some tweaking, like getting rid of star cards and placing vehicles on the maps. Also adding actual squads would be nice. But overall the game is fun. Its such a ...
1. DLC for Destiny 1 & 2 are no more expensive than any other game and actually offer MORE than most. New weapons and armor. New MP levels. New story content. New Strikes and a Raid. Raises level cap. Most other games only offer a map pack with 3-5 MP maps and a couple new guns. So I wouldn't call it overpriced at all.
2. Charges $60 for an expansion? Thats interesting. I haven't been able to find ANY of the content from Destiny 1 in Destiny 2. None of the story...
I think the big accomishment is being able to play these games as a portable system also. No one has ever done that. Even the Vita games you mentioned, like Borderlands was dumbed down and a lessened version 9f the game in order to run on the Vita. It was actually notnthe same experience foundnonnthenhome consoles.
The Swith is able to run these games portable as well as on the tv with nothing missing. Thats kind of an accomplishment.
Everything you mentioned is 100% accurate.
I also find this important about the cosmetic stuff: The game doesn't have a single piece of cosmetic gear. Not armor, weapons...nothing. You literally can't customize your character or their gear at all. At least not cosmetically. Everything thatbis customizable adds bonuses to your character's stats.
So if they do decide to reinstate MT's for cosmetic items only, then they will have to put in ex...
To be fair, the DLC is free. So no one has to pay extra for a season pass or content.
But you are still right. It shouldn't take all of that. Also, replacing paid DLC with what they tried to do is even worse than paid DLC.
Its a shame too, because the original Plants vs Zombies was so good. I didn't even play the 2nd one because it was just a locked game with progression that heavily relied on paying real money.
At least there is a reason to buy sports games every year. With team rosters changing every year, players being drafted in the off season. There are constant changes being made to teams in real life. So I kind of get it.
Although I'm sure there is a simpler way to do it. Like release a game, then release DLC updates that update all the team rosters. They could even sell those for $10-$15 if they wanted. Then only release an actual new game when they are ready to make a ...
@ derksoolz
The DLC is free because it was a smokescreen by EA.
They know fans were mad about the $50 season pass from BF1. So they told everyone all DLC is free, then implemented an even worse MT system that is a potential bottomless pit of spending. Then they made the progression take so long that people would have to pay real money to unlock everything, because few people would spend hundreds and hundreds of hours trying lock everything through normal ...
@ uth11
Well then you must not understand what they really did.
Yes, they made purchases optional. Except they did it by making it damn near impossible to unlock everything WITHOUT purchasing loot crates. Over 40 hours of gameplay to unlock 1 hero? Even the most die-hard players wouldn't stick around long enough to unlock all heroes and weapons through normal gameplay at that rate. It would have taken literally thousands of hours to unlock everything....
Haha. Mugen was awesome. I had so many ridiculous characters for that.
I rented it from Red Box because I just had to see whT this is all about for myself.
The game isn't bad. Its a somewhat generic shooter. If it wasn't Star Wars it wouldn't be anything special at all.
Having said that, Starfighter mode is absolutely awesome and they should spin it off into its own game. I could only imagine a fully fleshed out Starfighter ggame like this that spans all eras with all the different ships being playable. As it i...
@ lio_convoy
Wow! I didn't know you represent all "people".
I don't believe that for a second though. Not when nearly everyone you hear online is a male. Or when the vast majority of people you see in line buying games in stores are male.
Sure one could say that females tend to play more offline, or single player games. That could be a reason. But I would like to see the market research for how they came up with that number, because it sounds totally wrong.
Not that I'm saying you are wrong, mind you. I...
Yeah. Cosmetic only.
But again, there are still inherent problems that need to be addressed. Making all MT's cosmetic only still leaves the huge problem of certain characters taking over 40 hours to get through regular gameplay.
They need to fix that also.
This is their chance to make up for things. They need to make it cosmetic only.
But they will also need to fix the progression. Even though there are no MT's it would still take 40 hours to unlock 1 character. That needs to be fixed also.
This is great information, thanks for sharing.
Why would option 1 be the less popular tho? Seems like that is by far the best of the two options. IF....and that is a big IF, MT's must exist, they should only be for cosmetic things. Is this unpopular on EA's side of things? Because I can see them not wanting to do that.
They may have removed MT's but did they change how long it takes to unlock characters?
Removing MT's is only part of it. If it still takes 40 hours to unlock Vader and other heroes then that is still a big problem.
I usually donxt mind MT's if they are only cosmetic. But whether you agreee with that or not is kind of not the point here.
MT's used like this are an insult to the entire gaming community.
If Battlefront did that then it would be a totally different game. OW is successful with it because the character you play as has their own unique weapons. There's nothing to upgrade.
Having said that, Battlefront could have easily done what the Battlefield games were doing since day one. Earn experience for winning matches, earning medals, kills, etc, then use that experience to unlock new guns and gear for each class.
I would never compare Battlefront...
