"A game doesn't have to have zombies or monsters or alternate demon realms to strictly be considered survival horror."
Okay, sure. I'm certainly not speculating against that.
"Thing is, we don't get that nowadays. It's either zombies or monsters, too much action, co-op or all of the above. TLoU looks to be a genuine survival horror in that, by default, you're surviving both people and infected."

I don't think you understood my point: I'm not calling your description vague, but instead implying that your reasoning actually makes the term "survival horror" all the more--unnecessarily--open to interpretation.
It may have those elements, like practically every 3rd-person post-apocalyptic game does, but that doesn't mean it's actually a survival horror title.

Boom.
If we're going to make the term "horror" that ambiguous, we may as well toss in practically every post-apocalyptic game that isn't FPS-based.
It's been a while, but there's a few older worthwhile Star Trek games.

How much more tactful can you get than "Sorry Bioshock Infinite is not that good?" Although the text in his review is short, the reviewer starts off with a level-headed 'hear me out' statement.
I think a key difference between those two was L4D wasn't "short on skillful execution," like this reviewer says DI was.
They didn't. :(
It seems like we're prone to let our expectations for the series run wild thanks to the trailers.

Airplane? Why not the famous Osprey?
To be fair, that poster wasn't the first to approve it nor the person who submitted the flamebait-ish article. It can't really be helped if a poster gets lucky at being first to comment on those sorts of articles. It would be fairer to question what constitutes a 'Well Said' to the majority on here, rather than the one making a scathing, possibly true point.
@your 2nd comment
I'm not sure I follow. Each contributor gets the same limit of articles he/she can submit within a certain timeframe. Bubbles pertain solely to how many comments you can make in a certain article/blog/review.
Thank you, mcroddi.
*done reading the review, I should say (forgot to come back and edit).
I'm pretty sure saves of your character from the first DI carry over in some fashion. Although no one's seriously invested in their character (like with ME), it's probably easier for players to stick with the character, equipment, etc. that they had.
Edit: I haven't played Riptide so I'm not positive of what's carried over. Only have this:
