@Kaizo
First of all its not more expensive. A 500gb xbone with one game is $349 and the 500gb PS4 with one game is $399. Those are just retail prices, the xbone is almsot always on sale somewhere with an extra game or 3 months of live or something.
Also, you're speaking for yourself. I have a wii u, ps4 and xbone and they all offer a bunch of games i like. It's easy to say that the console you don't have is lacking compared to the one you do, but ...
This game is not going to change radically in less than a year. They're probably adding more polish or a throwaway multiplayer mode.
So? Doesnt make the games any less great.
I'll bet all my money that this is the case.
Lol the wii u version isnt even in the ad pic. Why do they always do that?
Ive said before the greatest issue with this site is the lack of a satire tag.
@S2Killinit
MGS 4 in Japan:
476k with 75k PS3's sold first week
68k with 25k PS3's sold second week
So MGS 5's impact on ps4 is not too bad considering this is a multiplat.
@septic
I dont support a monopoly, but is the PS4 not "on top" now? What constitutes "on top"? If the PS4 is considered on top, everything seems fine to me. That pressures MS and Nintendo to work harder, and they are (well we dont know what Nintendo is doing yet).
The PS2 was also a borderline monopoly and that was when Nintendo and MS made arguably their two BEST consoles.
The PS3 was hardly cocky in my opinion, Sony act...
I predict 120 million PS4's and 60-70 million Xbones. Wii U around 18 million since all that extra stock will be selling for nothing in a few years.
Its important to remember both ps3 and 360 couldn't keep up with demand at multiple times and the Xbone and PS4 are doing a much better job in this respect. Also the 360 had the RROD.
Its probably more because we're looking at 13 years of market growth between the two consoles.
They were never on top though.
They had a radically different view of what an 8th gen console should be, one that many didn't agree with. When they realized they weren't going to succeed with that model, they left it. That's all it comes down to.
I think someone needs to be on top, because the increasing irrelevance of consoles in Japan and increasing cost of AAA games means they need a successful console to make money. Last gen was a mess for Jap...
@Haru
I dont get this mentality. In the first year of PS2 we had:
Silent Hill 2, Jak and Daxter, FF X, MGS 2, GTA III, Devil May Cry, and Ico. This is off the top of my head and in the FIRST year with no multiplats.
And these are all games that pushed the boundary of games, some created entire genres! Compare that to the PS4 (or any other console this gen), and there is no contest.
2 years in and software is still largely sta...
If they did its as a downloadable. They barely fit it onto one disc as it is.
They should make metroid or zelda maker. Those games are complex and would require some kind of safe check (make the creator complete it before release?) but it would be cool to have.
I can never get enough metroid-like games so i would play one every week
I agree that Iwata did more good than bad, and i think many people mistake longtime problems rearing their head with these problems being inherently Iwata's.
But Ava's right. For every Bayonetta there's a million multiplats that have skipped the Wii and Wii U because of its atypical hardware. Then we have stuff like voice chat or a proper network or transferrable purchases which Iwata has allowed their development houses to ignore for way too long.
Only thing Xbone has of note is Killer Instinct and Nintendo Smash 4.
Im sure KOF will be good but XIII looks way better stylistically. I know this is early footage but even though the gameplay looks good as ever visually it is bland.
Blades were awesome, super simple and no ads or any of that crap. The xbox started up faster since the marketplace was a seperate load screen rather than something you had to load every time you turned it on.
I think if people gave the gamecube the respect it deserved we'd be looking at a much better Nintendo now. The best RE games ever, new IPs like Pikmin, Eternal Darkness and Animal Crossing. Great sequels like F Zero GX, Sunshine, Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2, i can go on...
This guy's primary influence was in the Gamecube era which is easily Nintendo at their most progressive and mature, even if not their most successful.
In terms of background and his history in the company he is definitely more like Yamauchi than Iwata. Yamauchi was a business man over everything and had little passion for games, whereas Iwata was making games before he was CEO.
Truthfully Iwata is WAY more like Steve Jobs than Yamauchi was, he made many r...
Zelda is debatable at best and Star Fox is definitely exclusive to Wii U, it's built around the gamepad.
As for the article, Star Fox was never going to save the Wii U. Sucks that its delayed, but it was never going to save it.
