Disagree, now is the time to buy. Nintendo has 5 mobile games out in the next 18 months, if even one has mario it will be huge.
Even the Miitomo one will be big, though probably not outside of Japan.
But they're gurl gamzorzzz
There's only a couple guys working on it if i recall correctly.
Well, if we're talking in the FAR future, i can see what happened to the early movie industry possibly happening to the early gaming one.
If the software companies of those days close (many already have) and the rights are in limbo (some people will buy them for nothing, many already have) and we reach a status where our tech is too advanced to play those games physically, then those games may be put into the public domain. As in, they are legal to download and emulate. ...
Spooky blog, yo.
In the digital age though, i can't see the games of yore disappearing, because they can be emulated. The irony is, the games that are disappearing are right under our noses.
A number of games on the XBL marketplace are already living their last days on hard drives that won't last forever. They were pulled for reason or another, and now that is their grave.
Im a sentimental person, i like that tangible disc, case, ca...
It's a lost cause. They had some of the best japanese exclusives of last gen in the first few years, still didn't help.
They probably knew this before they even launched the xbone, they just didn't want to look like quitters.
Feels like almost 3 years ago to me :P
Finally i can play it soon, a game that was originally slated for 2014...
@marloc
Not gonna lie, that one stung
I hope this time the controller is a ball of microphones that you blow into to control.
Im 13 and a half, dammit!
I honestly love Clocktower on Ps1. Group of friends, pizza, beer, and some classic pixelated horror to laugh at = perfect night for me.
@Nix
The problem with a number that low is that it doesn't add up.
5th gen: ~150 million consoles total
6th gen: ~210 million consoles total
7th gen: ~270 million consoles total (some inflation with the wii)
8th gen: If the xbone sells 30 to 40 million, and the wii u will no doubt sell around 15 million by its end, then the PS4 would be selling even better than it is now, it would be on pace for 200 million. It's selli...
You could say that, but the difference in score between the first 3 games is basically negligible. There's barely a 2% difference between those 3 games, then the percentage starts going down faster.
And that makes sense to me. Halo 1-3 were revolutionary. Stuff like theater mode or forge or custom games still sounds relevant 8 years later because they're still very ambitious ideas. Even Rockstar was 6 years late to that kind of innovation with GTA 5. Bungie were top d...
To the disagrees:
Nintendo's stock in the days before the DeNA announcement was 13,835. That was higher than usual, it had been as low as 10,900 weeks prior.
In the mere days after the DeNA they shot up to 17,845, and continued rising in the next months all the way up to 22,770. That's a massive increase for a games company that is selling hardware slower than ever.
The DeNA announcement back in March saved their ass in their worst ye...
Seriously, Platinum is the biggest success story out of Japan, and their games don't even sell well. But here they are bombarded with contracts from Nintendo, Square Enix, Activision and Microsoft.
Why? They get good games out quick, and they have a loyal fanbase to top it off.
Your ear is clearly not nigh, it's pronounced near.
The sad thing is, he's not joking, an investor proposed this idea a year or two ago at one of the Q&A's
The dena thing is what has saved their stock. It makes them look desperate to us, but all investors see is the $$.
You dont need to own multiple consoles to get 360 games on the xbone though.
Yeah, what the hell happened to vgchartz, its been weeks since i last saw an update from them.
