@why o why
I read somewhere that development costs between the ps3 and ps4 were damn near the same. Granted this is more the cell's fault than anything, but still worth noting.
@Sharingan
I know the factors here and I understand your reasoning. All im saying is i think it is more than possible to make a good looking AAA game without MT's. Look at Nintendo for example. The rabbit hole of realism is killing developers, as they often lo...
I dont accept this excuse either.
There are plenty of games that dont need MT's to profit. I dont think its a necessary evil at all, i think its just easy money since there'll always be dumbasses to buy them. I mean this is a big name, Uncharted, it'll make money without MT's for sure.
And if the games are so bloated and expensive that you need MT's to profit, developers are doing something wrong.
@One-Shot
No one said they werent sweating over it. But at this point, what can they do? Ditch the Wii U and what's left of their console fanbase? No. Make a new console and spread themselves too thin? Not yet.
Instead, they found a way to get games out fast (small projects like Captain Toad and Splatoon, also DLC), and a way to maximize profits to make up for slow sales (amiibo). They really did make the best of a poor situation.
@Genuine-User
Thanks for clarifying, didn't know DF looked at it.
How do you know? All we've seen is a trailer right?
Im sure naughty dog will choose whatever's best for the game though.
Remaster is way better, but i like Revelations 2.
If you're a big RE fan, Revelations 2 will tug on those nostalgia strings. Otherwise, it's just a kind of mediocre horror game.
Im sure most devs would kill for even a fraction of Halo 5's FW sales. But it is becoming a creatively bankrupt universe.
But the game wasn't due until Nov. 20
This is all progress that would have been seen on Nov. 20 anyway.
Im not seeing the massive difference here. It still looks pretty bad, only a few effects were touched up. But that is to be expected from such a technically radical game.
"its scary that nintendo..."
Name any time Nintendo did this to the extent of ANY other big name developer out there, and that point will hold some relevance.
I can guarantee you this is completely different code, this game is heavily reliant on the unique features of the Wii U and that's why it looks so minimalistic, not because it was a wii game.
This article isnt about nintendo or anyone else offering a streaming service. It's about PS Now possibly appearing on other consoles.
No but Twin Snakes was a GC exclusive in 2003
Still, someone from the Bravely games would make more sense since those games were big on 3ds.
There must be some reasoning behind this, this makes Cloud the only character in the history of smash to NOT be in an exclusive on a Nintendo console.
Having FF7 would be a huge step in gaining ground in Japan. We'll see what happens.
I agree deafdani
And this is one game that can really benefit from that stuff, because it has aged worse than WW for sure. The villagers are hideous!
I hope they at least do some improvements like they did to WW, like speed up that awful intro.
Honestly Japan is feasible. The Wii U largely failed but relations with japanese devs were not bad for such a slow seller. Still maintained solid relationships with Tecmo, Square enix and Namco.
Looks the same... might run at 1080p like WWHD did though.
Way to go Tantalus though. Risen the ranks to work for Nintendo.
What a weird inclusion for smash though, FFVII has never left the PC or Playstation.
Original xbox was a beast, severely underrated. Awesome exsclusives, many from golden age Sega, and the only console to handle pc ports like Half Life 2, Deus Ex 2, Doom 3, Morrowind, etc...
Probably killing its brain cells with booze due to all the kinect hate.
The reason last gen went on for so long was because of the big losses that Sony and MS took for their hardware. It was several years before either of them made money, and they had to stall for a couple of years to make enough to convince investors their respective brands were financially worthwhile.
Conversely the consoles this gen are much cheaper to manufacture (thus, more profitable) but also weaker, so i can see a return to a 6 or even 5 year cycle.
