@Gameseeker
You're correct. But the gripe with his comment i had was that he lumped the PS4 in with the Switch when only one of them is outpacing its predecessor and thus, growing the console market.
@Lime
Thats certainly part of the equation, but most Switch and Wii U owners own more than one console.
Also Nintendo games hold a full MRSP for years on end. They stay 60 dollars often for the full life of the console, and yet they keep selling.
@Eonjay
Not really... the PS4 started off strong in Japan but at this point the PS3 is outpacing it in the same timeframe. And the PS3 was said to have a slow start in the region at the time.

The console market in Japan was dying until the Switch came out, that design its the only way that co...
It had a 50% attach ratio on Wii U as well. The dedication to Nintendo's software is insane - i think i big part of it is that their games release complete and well-polished often with locked 60 fps.
I mean its free to play. It has some cool concepts behind it but i wish they tweaked it for a retail release.
Really i dont think ive played a more mixed bag of a game.
@EatCrow
You're right, but less plot is not worse. The simplicity was so much better.
Also, maybe Halo 1 and Reach had a lot of corridors but 2 and 3 definitely didnt. Tons of massive open levels.
Multiplayer is half the picture when it comes to Halo though. For me, 343 have yet to make a single player that i find worthwhile. Halo 4 was a nice first step and Halo 5 fell flat on its place in the campaign.
What happened with Level 5?
Honestly, they tried pretty hard last gen.
They had Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesparia, Monster Hunter Frontier, 99 Nights, Star Ocean Last Hope, The Last Remnant, Dead Rising. Microsoft also offered a tiny licensing fee to make games for the 360, so that's why we saw a ton of awesome bullet hell games on 360.
Other games like Lost Planet and didn't hit the PS3 til later. The 360 had plenty going for it, but the failure rate sunk its c...
Actually i saw a lot of skepticism after ME3 and Inquisition. I dont think hype hurt it whatsoever.
Im gonna go Metroid Prine or Super Metroid.
Breath of the Wild's inventory is in desperate need of the Wii U's GamePad.
The issue is even the games MS does release dont release complete. Halo 5 was missing Forge, Gears missing horde, Recore broken altogether...
Drainage!
I know what you mean. I remember when days gone was leaked as "post-apocalyptic open world biker game." I was expecting something kind of over the top and mad max-y. Then i saw it was another dramatic, cinematic Last of Us-esque game where i crouch in bushes and throw bottles.
Then the same happened with GoW. Kratos vs Norse mythology, sign me up! But its another cinematic "hold LS to move forward while you talk until something happens" game.
...
Thats what happened to the 360 - last 2 years were dead because all these exclusives - Crimson Dragon, DR3, Ryse - got moved to the xbone launch.
I like the look of the game but the combat looks like ryse 2. The over-the-shoulder cam just looks weird in a hack and slash. And I just hope the daddy simulator stuff is kept to a minimum. I never took GoW to be the series where you spend time in walking cutscenes.
They definitely needed to mix things up and they certainly did, i just hope its for the best. I have faith.
@godmars
No it was that magician guy and Rookie that used to spam that list.
Theres plenty of vids demonstrating the cloud-based destruction...

It was slated for Feb 2013 - smack dab in the longest drought of the Wii U's lifespan. If Ubisoft launched Rayman at the beginning of 2013 instead of the fall when it went up against other Wii U games, the series could be a third party mainstay on nintendo platforms today.
Its amazing what gamers will buy in the midst of a drought.
A lot of games feel same-y. So many games have bare bones and boring upgrade/skill trees, lack of open-ended design, perfunctory quest rewards, etc.
If i had a dollar for every game i spent crouch walking in bushes, throwing objects to distract braindead AI so i can hold a button to take them out of the fight.
Also, better combat? Like what? In fighting games combat has been dumbed down to the point of boredom. In hack and slash games, I'd say the com...
