For most people there is no system selling game... it takes like 5-10 games coming out soon to warrant an investment like that. For me personally, earthbound is a considerable plus though.
But Rapture is a parallel version of columbia. Andrew ryan and comstock. The little sisters and elizabeth, songbird and the big daddies protect them. Atlas and Fitzroy both unite the lower class and take it over. The games intros are exactly the same. Both protagonists and villains are connected in some way.
Who's to say this isnt just a tangential universe (one of infinite) where booker and elizabeth lived in rapture. Its clear that that elizabeth in the trailer is completely dif...
SMT x Fire Emblem, Bayonetta 2, and the new monoliftsoft game are about as hardcore and niche as you can get, and they're all out by next year.
Im not saying we have to wait til 2014 to see what it can do, W101, pikmin 3, donkey kong, wind waker HD and the new mario are all out before the year ends.
Im saying wait til 2014 after those games, mario kart and smash bros have come out before we call the wii u "dead". My point being that people calling the wii u "dead" less than a year after it comes out and a week away from a monthly AAA title string leading into 2014, are simply being foolish.
Jesus, how about we let the upcoming rush of games come, see the christmas sales, then let mario kart and smash bros come out. THEN we'll talk. A system with no games doesnt sell, naturally. A system with as many good games as the wii u's getting within the next few years does sell.
A console from any of the big 3 doesnt die in less than a year, before the other consoles are even out. The wii u is an original, well made system that we've yet to see the best of. In...
Sony did indeed introduce some nefarious buisiness practices when 3rd party devs were perplexed by the needlessly complex cell architecture. Youre forgeting

Nintendo needs to make more 3rd party exclusives, something theyve done a good job doing lately. The 3 exclusive sonic games will sell, bayonetta 2 and W101 might not sell but they'll satisfy the hardcore and help sell my systen at least, SMT x FE will sell. Im sure well advertised 3rd party exclusives (like no more heroes) will sell, but literally every 3rd party muliplatform release on the wii u thus far has been inferior in some way.
I would pay less for this version since i doubt the multiplayer will be all that great anyway.
Man i chose to BUY the game with my 3ds at the store thinking the multiplayer would be online. I beat it on all 3 difficulties in 6 hours within the first 3 days of me buying the system, and haven't touched it since. And for me ds games go for 34.95 which is still way too much, but i've seen SSB:brawl, a 5 year old game, still selling for full price at stores too. Thats ridiculous. Even metroid other M, a game which sold fairly poorly is still asking the price of a brand new wii game....
Will wait till it drops then, sick of companies overcharging for hd remakes. Like that 2 year old star fox 64 remake on 3ds they're STILL selling at 39.99, when its just a graphical improvement on a 15 year old game with tacked on local multiplayer.
Their refusal to use the blu-ray, now used by both competitors means the wii u will be the only system with no blu-ray/dvd playback. How much a dual layer wii u disc can hold is still a question too. Fairly limiting indeed, and very comparable to the gamecubes mini-dvd situation which was made for the exact reason.
Zombi U - mediocre at best
The only Monster Hunter is a wii port
NSMBU plays like every other NSMB game, uninspired and lacking the challenge of the old titles.
The others are alright i guess. Wouldnt exactly call the eshop titles "countless".
The line up through the end of 2014 however, is something to purchase the system for.
I cant dislike certain aspects of a company i like? I think the wii u is interesting and inventive. I think nintendo's counterintuitive ways of preventing piracy serve more to hinder the console than prevent pirates.
Didnt realize i had to pick a side, lol.
Funny how nintendo is the most annoyingly restrictive with their systems mostly because of piracy, sometimes to the detriment of their consoles (low storage discs on gamecube, expensive carts on n64). And yet the ds, wii, wii u, and now 3ds are just as susceptible, maybe even moreso, to piracy as the other systems.
Maybe instead of the silly region locking, limiting CD formats, and other nonsense they should focus on more efficient means of protection.

Nintendo is to blame, but developers releasing half assed ports and gimped multiplats didnt help.
I think its more like the fact that no one's buying the system.
Nintendo will be fine, its the wii u we're worried about. They need to do more to push the system.
People who want a wii u have no conflict with that descision like how some might be deciding between ps4/xbox one. The system is unique, and the games played on it will probably feel very specific to that system. I dont admire the wii u for its power like i do the ps4, but its identity against 2 black boxes directly competing with largely multiplatform games.
When the wide variety of games start coming out, both hardcore (bayonetta 2, smash bros, X, SMTxFE) and casual (Super mario 3d ...
Theres a lot of untapped potential with the gamepad, and im sure before nintendo invested so much in the thing they had some brilliant ideas for it we have yet to see ;)
Im more excited for this than the new mario.
