thing is f zero and star fox are not as financially successful as their other games.
thats why ive been saying the very least they should do is give it a smaller budget and throw it on the eshop for 20 bucks, give it good multiplayer and dont settle for couch co-op crap. whatever, keep mario offline but star fox and f zero need 16 player dogfights and high player online races. neglecting that kind of potential would be a deal breaker for me.
Definitely. This is why rayman origins sold bad... they released it in the competitive fall season. If you have 60 bucks to spend would you buy gta or rayman legends? "Well all my friends are getting gta, i want to play with them!"
i guess but im sure there's still money to be made in japan with the 2ds launching with x/y
considering how well the 3ds does in japan this is surprising.
yeah like the original DS, gameboy color, or gameboy EVER fit in pockets.
obviously because this is sturdier and has a better battery, thus good for dumb kids who drop the 3ds a lot and need to be kept quiet in the car for an extended period of time.
heres a review i agree with
i haven't felt pleased with the splinter cell games ever since conviction...
it looks a little too basic. i hope they make it a little more console friendly considering it's also on mobile
@arbitor
i know that, my point was that good new ip's sell systems. halo 1 and 2 sold the original xbox. so even if titanfall isn't it microsoft could still create/buy a franchise that sells the system.
he said that "the sales wont be good cause its exclusive (wrong) to the system with the low fanbase" (lower but not low). but games like halo are the ones that got microsoft from nothing to an active competitor, and then a force to be reckoned with with the 36...
the original halo gained a huge fanbase on an install base of nothing. games like halo sold systems, as will whatever microsoft/whoever comes up with this gen
is this game any good compared to the first?
i thought the first was overpriced for like a 2 1/2 hour game
actually no more heroes sold abysmally in japan and did well overseas so i wouldn't count EU and NA sales out.
Madworld only sold 3,000 in its first week in japan, then went on to sell a modest 710,000. No more heroes 1&2 both flopped in japan too. But in the end all 3 games became profitable in NA and EU. So just because a game seems DESTINED for japan doesnt mean it will sell there.
The only game platinum has made that did better in japan than NA was anarchy reigns.
To be honest i doubt they're doing any better releasing xbox/ps multiplats given it costs more to port and sti...
Bayonetta clearly didnt do well enough.
And okami is not a hack and slash, its an action/adventure game, in fact most people compare it to zelda.
Anyone else remember that creative fps nintendo published way back on the gamecube?? I remember it flopped but it was a good game and rated m.
you do realize the 3ds was released only 2 years ago right? mobile gaming has been on the rise since 2010. also the 3ds' sales didn't get a serious bump until 2012-2013, well into the mobile gaming domination.
and there's plenty more than "mario and zelda hurr" on the 3ds. in fact a flagship zelda title wasnt released until this year.
not only won't you acknowledge the 3ds' decent non mario and zelda library, you'll ignore the fact that the 3d...
yes i still buy games for it too! if you ask me the dreamcast and gamecube are prime examples of how to make a console built to last, and make it cheap.
it really is a system that had multiple good games coming out a month at good prices, and the system wasnt around long enough to get bad. it was just 2 years of pure awesome, a great time to be a gamer.
Dreamcast hands down for me. Especially the american launch.
Are you people even reading the article? He doesnt say anything from a financial perspective, just from a creative one. And he has a point, look at the 3rd installments of a lot of game/movie series and you'll see the 3rd one is often the worst.
That said i hope bayonetta 2 doesnt leave a cliffhanger or has a bad ending, i hope it ties everything up kind of like portal 2 did without a 3rd game.
thats crazy how a 1080p/60fps largescale game can take up the space of resident evil 4 lol. i guess cause its cel shaded it doesn't need much space for textures and crap.
