The original xbox made me trust them! The only console that could handle ports of half life 2, deus ex invisible war, morrowind, doom 3, thief 3! Sega support with crazy taxi 3, jet grind radio 2, shenmue 2, panzer dragoon orta! The first good online infrastructure, with great online games.
Original xbox was a great system with individuality.
360 was also very good until they stopped making games for it.

Xbox one, ps4 and wii u are pretty equal imo. I had a ton of fun with nintendoland and zombi u was okay too.
good list except sonic lost world and arkham city aren't exactly bragging points.

biggest factor there is supply. if nintendo had a million wii's at launch they would've sold a million. if sony had 2 million they might've sold 2 million.
this is probably the first console with 1 million units manufactured by launch, which is incredible

Well that's your choice, though. You ignored zombi u, w101, windwaker hd, rayman, mh3u, resident evil revelations, NSMBU, nintendo land, amongst others. You could make the argument that you bought them on other systems, but i could just as well say "i bought AC4, bf4, cod ghosts, ryse, dr3, and crimson dragon on xbox one, only bought killzone shadowfall and knack on ps4! Xbox one has more games!"

Rember that cherry colored bundle? They had those 2 different colored bundles and a lot of people thought 3d world would go with the "cherry red" bundle.

I agree to an extent, but this will still sell tons of consoles, guaranteed. This isnt as hardcore as the 3D games nor casual as the NSMB games, it appeals to both audiences and the multiplayer component is something worth considering, as prior 3D games lacked this. I think it will sell better than NSMBU, personally. We'll see.
UMM how about 3D land which almost singlehandedly saved the 3ds (with mario kart too), which this is a DIRECT sequel to! and do you honestly think the n64 would've sold anything in the first year without mario 64 as a launch title? No way. Or if NSMBU wasn't out at launch, the wii u would probably be at least a million consoles less than it is now. half of wii u owners own that game, for crying out loud!

everyone has a first console... those that experienced their first zelda, first mario, first smash bros on the wii could just as well buy a wii u.
look at the sales for every nintendo IP on the wii, mario galaxy, animal crossing, smash bros, and everything else. they consistently went up, not by a lot, but they did go up over their gamecube pred...

im not saying sony doesn't have exclusives, they have plenty, but people are disagreeing because a lot of what you list isn't exclusive. like outlast, warhammer, planetside 2, MLB, others too. also uncharted isn't even confirmed for a 2014 release yet.
All 3 consoles have great line ups for 2014, but 2 exclusives a month is preposterous.

still the xbox division, newly marred by the bad rep of the xbox one wouldn't be worth the money. theyd be better off auctioning off a few studios and going back to making PC or 3rd party games (as MS did back in the day).
I think shadowfall will be the perfect dark zero of this gen. When its out it has few detractors and decent reviews, 6 years from now it is unanimously considered a disapointment.
I live 2, didnt like 3, and havent played shadowfall but it looks pretty uninteresting to me.

i thought they kept their 9 million forecast for FY 2014. not that i think theyll make it but im pretty sure they kept it.
Anway, im positive the wii u will sell more than this. this gen will last at least another 6 years, and nintendo won't cut support for the system when anything they release on it is guarranteed to sell since their fans buy everything they make.
