blue dragon, a decent bit of console exclusives, lost odyssey, dead rising, viva pinata (guilty pleasure), gears of war 1-3, halo, some better multiplats, forza, alan wake, amongst others.
360 wasn't a bad system at all, especially in its youth.
this game doesn't deserve to sell, it's the worst possible version to get and lacks DLC with half the support every other version gets. why WOULD you buy this game lol.
tons of delays this generation. watch dogs, drive club, tons of wii u games, PEGGLE TWOOOOO
if you ask me there was no decent indy or star wars game last gen xD lucasarts fallen so far from grace
one can hope.
with retro hiring people from crytek, naughty dog, zipperhead, amungst other prestigious developers there has to be at least 2 teams.
I swear if they dont release a fatal frame game on wii u i will be pissed. Gyro controls wouldnt even be a problem as you never need to turn 360 degrees in FF. dynamic camera angles, map on the gamepad, hold the gamepad up, boom youre holding the camera obscura. The tension of having to look down to see a map rather than the safety and intrusion of a pause button is immersive and frankly brilliant.
^i agree about galaxy and 64, but completely disagree with sunshine.
and i do think that mario needs to be more adventurous and varied like it used to be. Think about this people, there is not ONE goomba in sunshine. Or koopa. Nothing but new enemies and settings...
Also sales really don't agree. mario galaxy sold better then sunshine, galaxy 2 sold better than sunshine too, though not better than galaxy. 3D land outsold galaxy 2. the new super games are smash hits (as mu...
Ignore the fanboy disagrees :l
here's to the wii u and vita, easily most underrated platforms on the market... at the very least they will be remembered fondly
edit: oops i accidentally hit disagree too. -1 disagree
yeah, but i do feel like a new metroid would win over some of the loyalists that are still on the fence. i feel like a healthy portion of the wii u owner base bought it for the niche stuff that's coming, namely bayonetta 2 and X. and the best thing about that crowd is that they actually BUY games (see the gamecube) unlike the casuals nintendo is courting lately.
i have to respectfully disagree.
i think it ditched the series staple of exploration, removed the element of discovery by making the story in-your-face, desecrated the main character, ignored continuity, and put the series' future in jeopardy because no one bought it (because no one wanted it).
I think the next metroid should be either 2D on 3ds or 3D on wii u, the 2.5D format was poorly executed (for a metroid game) and left a bad taste in people's mouths.
ehhh depends on what you call niche.
In my opinion consoles like the dreamcast and neo geo and gamecube are niche, they were perhaps not financially outstanding but they do have diehard fanbases and tons of great games.
in a way, i see the wii u joining the ranks of those consoles, hopefully not financially but from the types of games that appear on the console and the loyalty of the fanbase.
@PS4beaver
Oh yeah they definitely should have had it out earlier. But this will definitely have long term sales... the new super games on wii u were in the top 30 this week.
Well nintendo made money on the system, i doubt they'd consider it a failure. It was last place in the console race, but the xbox sold more and was a financial disaster. i bet MS would've killed for gamecube profits back in the day.
...or any other exclusive games >_> why would killzone, mario or any other exclusive outsell ANY game on this list which is out on like 5 platforms (except GTA, which is still out on 2 consoles).
also anyone who said pikmin 3 (a sequel to an obscure gamecube series that barely topped 1 million) or wonderful 101 (a game by a developer that has never once met sales expectations) would save the wii u are complete idiots. people act like collective fanbases are just one person that ...
Me too. they delay things a lot, but at least they put it out without it needing a bunch of patches and such. kind of like valve.
i wish i knew where all the Knack guys went. looking at the last vgchartz sales reports 3D World sold over 700,000 and Knack was just over 250,000.
and yet i got disagrees for saying it only outsold mario in the UK. tsk tsk.
gamecube had smash bros melee at launch.
definitely. sales would be nice too though >_>
man who the hell buys angry birds as a launch title.
yeah not bad
i wish that with the release of smash bros 4 they will put out a replica of the gamecube controller. they would sell loads - people have been using that controller for smash for over a decade, theyd be stupid to not make one.
that doesn't really mean anything, just that nintendo wants to retain the rights. theyve been renewing eternal darkness stuff for the past 10 years, no sight of that anytime soon.
