Original xbox is criminally underrated. A ton of obscure exclusives and superior multiplats, could run beasts like Deus Ex: Invisible War and Doom 3 and Half Life 2...
Also pioneered the PC architecture that has become the norm for Sony now too.
Definitely true about zelda, hell i had a friend from school playing windwaker hd and as soon as he got out of the dungeon he was overwhelmed by the big sea.
"where do i go now? theres no marker or anything".
These days gamers are used to being spoon fed. I hope the next zelda follows the trend of A Link Between Worlds and is nonlinear. I miss games that gave me a sense of discovery.
I think its possible that the Wii U could pull a Saturn and maintain a healthy position in Japan, maybe even over the PS4. Mainly because, whereas Sony is focusing a lot of their resources on western appeal thus far, Nintendo has nothing BUT focus on Japan. Big stuff over there like Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest, Fatal Frame, Warriors series, etc. will shift tons of units in Japan but not near as much every where else.
We'll have to wait and see if truly system selling stuff like ...
Its not my favorite, but it does evoke a certain feeling other consoles have lacked lately.

Lol im kidding but let's keep it on topic.
On topic: Nintendo's pain is our gain in the long run. The wii u is a glorious wake up call.
@Sayguh
Thanks!
I'm considering a major in communications, actually xD.
Reference: Random guy on N4G
Maybe this'll be the version we get?
If i were them i'd release it solely on Wii U, because the Wii is dead and gone in NA.
Man, i tell you what...
You're probably the most level-headed person on this site. Props for that. You post a crap ton of comments and every one i see is reasonable and well stated. Just wanted to put that out there, lol.
I agree, but i do have to agree with the others moreso. Me and you have gone back and forth SO many times on this site and i always find you generalizing an entire fanbase based on this stupid, fanboy ridden site. If you own a Wii U and you go on Miiverse you will see a majority of paying customers (that is, not the kids and trolls) feeling the way i do about Nintendo, namely, that they need to set up a successful plan to save their system. And that is totally false about there only being def...
Wrong, putting it in 1080p will do nothing but HURT it.
I think MM is best on 3ds, less of a power gap so quicker development time. I think expecting it in HD is too much, though i would definitely buy it on wii u.
I'm guessing MS charges an extremely small licensing fee in Japan, and for how few hardware sales there are there, there's still a decent amount of software and a high attach ratio.
The 360 in Japan is quite strange, there's a freakin' TON of bullet hell shooters. If you ask me, the obscure Japanese support it does get is the among the most overlooked content this gen, for obvious reasons.
Not necessarily. If nintendo markets it well, it'll sell well just like some of the other well marketed hardcore games. Stuff like Monster Hunter, Fatal Frame, Zombi U (almost 700k units... 1/9 of the install base) sell well, or at least better than they do on non nintendo platforms. While there is a healthy portion of the nintendo fanbase that have limited tastes, its important to note that games like X, MH, Bayonetta 2, SMT x FE, Hyrule Warriors amongst other more hardcore exclusives pu...
I didn't say innovation.
The point is if we become content with the same old crap, we'll get the same old crap. It's important to give props to a game that ventures out and tries something new rather than another game which does not, even if the other game isn't perhaps as well executed.
The thing with a lot of sandbox games is devs love to follow the rockstar formula and go way overboard with exposition and small talk. Like in red dead you'll spend 10 minutes riding to missions, same with AC and GTA.
Im not sure why a short game is an inherently bad thing. To an extent like MGS Ground Zeroes it is, but 11 hours plus whatever's on the side is plenty. It actually took me almost a year to beat GTA 4 and RDR just because i was so bored by the formula the...
Why did you reply to imt558's comment? I mean his comment was pretty nonsensical and vague but i can't see why you read that and typed this for any reason other than to be at the top.
OT: This game looks pretty good considering its 1080p 60 fps on xbox one. I wouldnt mind games of this visual caliber if it meant high res and framerate.
I would have to agree, although both had an over abundance of CGI trailers.
Yeah i usually wait a year before i buy a system. By then theres enough stuff to play between the releases.
I don't think there was a "best game" of last gen. My favorites were catherine, super mario galaxy, gears of war 2, bayonetta, mass effect 1, bioshock 1, deus ex: HR, and TLOU.
But i put a distinct line between "favorite" and "best".
I couldn't call TLOU the best game of this gen, while it is excellent there isn't any particularly deep gameplay or much new brought to the genre. I can't call a game "game of the gen&quo...
@Foxtrot
I'm fully aware that you're talking about clones. I find copying another character's moveset and tweaking it minimally and then slapping him on the roster as if he's original to be lazy. I expect more. If you're talking about characters with similar movesets but also different (falco and fox), then that still creates the potential for unbalance. Though not unbalanced, Falco and fox are pretty far from each other on the tier list.
If you...
Edit: now i see what you mean.
Yeah its unfortunate previous japanese xbox games didnt sell well. The only really successful one was Ninja Gaiden. They must be making money though for MS to keep funding them.
