Assumptions and lies made by people with no evidence at all to back up their claims, and so they can be easily dismissed without evidence too.
I emulate a lot of games and own so many old titles without the original hardware.
It's worse than emulating on a crappy PC. It is emulating PS1 games without all the extra resolution, bells and whistles you can get on a low powered modern PC.
You may as well download a better emulator and run the games with more resolution, with settings that eliminate the texture warping, added anti aliasing and filtering etc all the eye candy emulators can do.
Just emulate.
You can run PS1 games at much higher resolutions, with added filtering and all sorts of clever tweaks. Correcting the texture warping of many titles is possible, and this is a BIG deal for PS1 games which for the most part all featured this rendering issue due to the nature of the hardware. Emulation can fix it.

Diminishing returns. Difference between 900p and 1080p on a large (lets say 60 inch) 1080p screen viewed 8 feet away is more noticeable than native 4K versus sub native on the same size of UHD screen the same distance away.

Terrible input lag doe. Been measured at more than 200 milliseconds at 30FPS which is about SIX times slower than something like COD Infinite Warfare. You press a button and you wait until the game responds. You can easily feel it at such slow response. It's laggy as fuuuuuuu....
Rise of the Tomb Raider was the same on console. Bad latency. The 60FPS mode helps but it's still worse than your average 30FPS console shooter!
PUBG was really the infancy of the battle royale. It was the first game that hit it huge, but without rapid and fast evolution it will inevitably get left behind. Fortnite is showing that and now we will see it as bigger names get involved like Call of Duty Blackout. All the triple A devs with lots of experience and lots of employees will swamp PUBG like that game swamped H1Z1.

Having more RAM is better than having an SSD. You always have the option to add a faster hard drive as a consumer but rarely more RAM.
Developers will strive to use every last drop of memory you give them. Even if their game doesn't use up all the system's memory you can always use it as a fast cache to improve loading and access times when actually in the game.
