An RX580 or GTX1060 is gonna run this 4K and 60FPS as well TBH. They did Halo 3, it'll be close as makes no difference for Halo 4.

To get 1080p and 60FPS on this you'll only need an old potato like a GTX950 or GTX760 even

They weren't awfully optimised, it just had a couple very demanding settings. The main option that really hurt the game hard was the levels of screen space reflections, which the consoles simply didn't have as it was too much for them. On PC this extra option could tank performance without a high end GPU. With it off, the game flies.

If you pump up everything to ultra it becomes extremely demanding since the quality is miles above what the consoles could do.

"Xbox Series X uses a drive that is much faster than even the SSD you might have in your PC or Mac."

Clearly it doesn't. The controller's real world maximum is only 3.75GB/s, and we know Microsoft have stated that practical speed is only 2.4GB/s. It's also using an industry standard CFexpress style connector, not some crazy custom design. SK hynix's 128 layer NAND does not operate at speeds above PCIe 3.0 limits.

Literally any ha...

It looks good on Series X but in nobody's world do crisp reflections look like that on those floors. They are broken.

Just look at the floor in the scene shown in the still of the video. Straight lines of light do not reflect all split and jagged on flat polished floors.....they can squiggle if the floor is uneven and and diffuse if it isn't mirror polished but they never look like a broken line like that.

The diffuse on the PC version is more ac...

Sounds very strange.

I'm not sure what they would accomplish tweaking a fan profile post launch that they shouldn't have already nailed down in their testing labs. X amount of current SoC load thermal dissipation cross referenced with current digital thermal sensor readings should be X amount of fan RPM. They can control both tightly.

Due to the difference in operating environments and slight manufacturing tolerance differences in each machine...

@Sunny12345 So what you're NOW saying is you trade in old hardware to save money on a future upgrade?

Welcome to what every Pc gamer ever does selling their old GPU upgrading to the next one up. $500 upgrade in 3 years that obliterates a console? It's now a $250 upgrade dispensing of the old card.

Warranties are a value proposition. When you have a console that sucks down 300 watts as these next gen machines will, you'll be seeing failures, fo...

@Sunny1234 "Looking at last gen cycle of consoles, updraged models of consoles will be in market in 2-3 years as well."

So what are you saying? You are going to spend $500 on a console in 2020 and then another $500 on a console in 2023? Wait, so that's now $1000 on console hardware alone in a single generation just to try and reduce the gap down to a somewhat less inferior experience!? Jesus. I thought you were trying to pretend you'll save a lot of money!...

"Even PC GPUs which cost more than an entire PS5 or XSX wont run every next-gen game at 4k 60fps."

Yeah, they will. Because on PC you can choose individual settings to get the balance you prefer, and not the one the developer imposes on you.

That's why people like PC gaming. Ultimate control, Ultimate choice.

The game isn't out on Pc yet. We don't know how it runs with finalised drivers, patches or anything else.

At the start of a new console generation indeed only a 'small percentage' of Pc gamers might exceed next gen console performance.

Of course not many people own those next gen consoles either. A very small percentage install user base of gaming consoles worldwide, with 95 percent still on PS4 or comparable console hardware.

I have a lot of hassle when I have to sit waiting hours for downloads and updates to install on console. It's not much better or easier these days than on Pc quite frankly. The initial setup and cost is what takes more money and time on Pc, after that you're into and out of games faster and the thing is probably cheaper to run.

What with these mega priced peripherals and subs on console. I laugh at Microsoft's slow new expensive 1TB expansion drive for example....

All I ever see is insecure console loons shouting about these theoretical 'master race' PC gamers but I never actually see the PC gamer posts that people like you claim. All I see is the posts pretending these people are everywhere on here.

To me there seems to be more people like you on here talking about that kind of person than.....that kind of person!

Console games launch broken as much as PC games have issues these days.

After a year or two the main differences for many titles is that the console versions can still be broken and stay that way forever, but PC games get fixed by the community if it's a game with a dedicated fanbase.

I went back to Fallout 4 on PC and it's a vastly superior game on PC after so many community mods and fixes, coupled with increased hardware performance around now t...

This game needs heavy support and I hope they continue being backed over this title. It needs a lot of optimisation work over the coming months. I hope they can focus on that, perhaps implementing DX12 that had been touted and sorting out CPU load.

My PS3 with a garbage tier SSD is comfortably faster. 20 seconds from the PS button on the controller to controlling the XMB.

Probably because it's the most next gen, real time rendering seen anywhere right now. Nothing available to the public is close to it. RTX3080 barely does the business.

It's paradigm shift where extreme emphasis is put upon ray tracing effects. Saying that it's also a benchmark, where everything is pushed to the upper limit and likely does not represent the performance of the game it is based upon.

Just a small reduction of quality or accuracy...

A common misconception DefaultComment.

Typical ammunition has its own oxidiser in the propellant. You need the propellant to burn very quickly and cleanly as possible.

Air even at sea level simply isn't oxygen dense enough to supply the needed oxygen for a really rapid burn and release of energy in such a small chamber that modern firearms possess.

So you have an oxidiser in there. That means a bullet can be fired under water, at hi...

Faster than it does inside Earth's atmosphere because it has no aerodynamic drag to slow it down. If you are in orbit and you aim perfect you can shoot yourself in the back after the bullet orbits and comes back around to hit you.

If you aim the bullet out into space and it ends up being caught in the gravity well of another planet, then it'll accelerate even further. Shooting perfectly at Jupiter's orbit for example by the time it hits the planet it'll be ...

"Pc players have been moving games back and forth for years because of ssd cost."

No they haven't. They likely have multiple drives and choose which one to install to depending on what they judge the game to need. I have had a 1TB SSD for nearly 5 years now and terabytes of slower storage, mind you even that is still much faster than the notebook HDDs inside PS4 and Xbox One.

If it's a game that will have long load times and cutting edge...
