we don't see one a week that reaches 1000 degrees. that's an exaggeration.
the smarter opening comment should be...what's the point of an article that talks about potential articles?
this is such a pointless read.
it's not the most graphically impressive. but it is one of the most polished games. no question. the ai can leave something to be desired though. especially the boss fight that takes place in the snow. you can basically just hide under the tank (might just be a truck or something -- been a LONG time since i've played) and snipe her.
i would prefer it that half life 3 (and all other games) never get mentioned til 6 months before launch. we are too entitled, as consumers. and frankly, i find it annoying hearing about a blockbuster more than a year in advance.
the publishers/developers don't owe us anything.
i work with a lot of gay guys (in fact, where i work, i'm in the minority when it comes to the male staff), and i've never heard a group of people (not even in a competitive game like halo, or gears, or whatever) say more things like you describe. initially i just found it funny that they were being ironic. but they aren't being ironic. they just recognize those words the same way the rest of us do...as words.
i can appreciate what you're saying...sometimes...
so many opinions on something so pointless.
the only reason i'd goto a gaming convention would be if i thought at least half would be chics in the hopes i might meet someone that i can connect with.
at least this way, they get not half, but 100%. certainly helps their odds.
and lets face it, this IS about hooking up. if it weren't, they'd be happy with regular gaming conventions. i say more power to em.
i get the feeling you didn't play crysis 2. you didn't have to hold anything. you were taking cover because it's an fps and standing with something between you and the person shooting you is naturally cover. the system intuitively knew when you zoomed in (the way you would out of cover) that cover was in front of you and you'd lean around or over. there was no button to push to tell the game you wanted to take cover because something like that is completely unnecessary in ...
as long as it's not a cover based game. the only game i've seen do fps cover even remotely well was crysis 2 and it was almost completely unnecessary.
EDIT: i knew a bunch of people would say "killzone did it well." no, it didn't. it was a clunky mess. i never used the cover system in KZ except in the tutorial. Crysis' cover system was intuitive. you dint' have to hold anything to take cover...cuz you know...it's an FPS. and you didn...
no business for profit in the history of anything has ever set out to "make people smile."
it's just marketing.
truth:
"Nintendo's basic strategy is to maximize profits by providing a product (or service) that they believe people want to buy."
just like every other business
you intentionally inconvenienced yourself out of spite?
that's idiotic. you still bought the game. and then when you put the disc in, you still had to install it through origin.
if you hate ea so much, then don't buy their games at all.
is getting a HUGE what? erection? it's gotta be erection.
Top 2 reasons: Dead Space 1 and Dead Space 2 weren't the least bit scary.
doesn't matter if this is true or not, you'll still believe it.
"your mind makes it real."
tripping definition.
Hmmmm, not sure what the point of this comment is.
i don't see how they missed Sleeping Dogs
how about just about every chic that was in Dead or Alive? Sarah Carter, specifically.
why would you be laughing at the "doubters?" isn't their doubt justified? how many times over the years have we heard this before?
sure, this seems more concrete (and, if true, will give me a reason to play through for a 4th time), but why criticize people for learning lessons from recent history?
"Also someone in this thread doesn't understand the difference between an install and swapping a disc. Tsk tsk. "
he ...
it is funny, but it's not news. and the word "man" is being used pretty loosely here.
i'm not talking about quality. i'm talking solely about sales. biggest means received positively by the most people...so sales absolutely do matter. you can't call a game "big" if nobody buys it, therefore more sales = bigger.
i'm not sure why my comment is causing an argument. i didn't say one is better than the other. i just said halo will sell a lot more and therefore be a "bigger" game. doesn't matter when they launch, doe...
there is absolutely NOTHING "clever" about it.
it's just some idiot seeking attention and money for his failed business venture.
