I agree xiphos.
It truly was squandered momentum.
However, to be fair, Sony had their hands tied by the loss-making ps3 hardware and ongoing $3-4 billion in ps3 losses which still have to be recouped.
I am sure they would have liked to have taken advantage of the momentum, but were financially unable to do so.
i love you ultimolu..
you are like a firebreathing-demon-vixen from sexy-sony-hell.
did you bring the whipped cream like i asked you?
well spotted!
The mods should fail this, as it's against N4G rules to change the story title in the submission process.
... MODS?
The author of this article is probably going to get fired.
*Thanks baby jesus*
I agree mostly with your comment.
What must also be remembered, is that the ps2 is sold at a profit, while the ps3 is sold at a loss.
Thus, it is the ps2 profits which ironically enable the ps3 to be sold at a loss.
Sony would be silly to discontinue the ps2 while it is making profits, in favour of the ps3 which is losing money (or breaking even).
Yeah wow, i can scarcely believe the ignorance from you, andron.
MS does NOT owe you or anyone anything.
If they want to bundle IE for free, then they have that right in the free market, same as Apple has the right to bundle safari.
What the EU is advocating is absolutely socialistic rather than capitalistic.
Sorry if the truth hurts!
Consumers have ALWAYS had free choice of browser and the right to use firefox, opera... whatever.
Indee...
makes me wonder if they will then reduce the price of the base model arcade even further, thus cementing an amazing lineup of skus at different price levels.
a $150 arcade 360 perhaps?
a $350 Natal/360+ perhaps?
oh my that's unbelievable!
You STILL don't get it!
No offense, dude, but you have not got a clue about the issues at play.
It is NOT MS's responsibility to inform ignorant users of competing choice in the marketplace.
That responsibility rests solely with the supplier of the competing choice.
I feel like i have wasted my breath here...
*Sighs*
You don't get it.
Consumers always have been free to choose whatever browser they want to use.
The EU is forcing MS to INCLUDE other browsers at MS's expense.
It is akin to forcing coke to include Pepsi products.
agreed.
The European commission is a joke.
The European laws on what is deemed monopolistic practice are different to other parts of the world and, in this case, MS is being forced to bundle their competitors product with their own.
This is absolutely ludicrous!
The EU is slowly but surely becoming the socialist haven that the USSR had planned for it.
what if said bear can't see the woods for the trees in the zoo?
well said!
You guys need to read Jason's post at 2.2
Completely agree!
The fact that we are in a worldwide recession and the EADD (and MS overall) posted terrific profits is an achievement worth congratulating.
Well done MS!
Guys, take it easy on poor darkrider.
We all know he is sony fanboy numero uno and he lies through his teeth (as proven in my post in the open zone).
The reason he is not showing up is that he has been rightfully banned to the open zone.
.... Just so you know.
Guys, we have to cut darkride some slack.
The guy obviously has an axe to grind and will look for any and all spin to satisfy his anti-MS personality.
He has finally snapped.
Not only is he lying about increased revenue in the EADD, but he has competely ignored the ongoing spending that has reduced the bottom line, which ironically, is still profitable.
If we check MS financials here,
Your posts are very good.
Yeah, it's a tremendous result for the MS and the EADD.
Not only has MS weathered the storm of the recession, but they have also posted $169 million profit for the year in the EADD despite the massive pricecuts of the 360 skus.
All things considered, MS must be very happy with the result.
I shudder to think what sort of numbers Sony is going to post, given the high cost of the ps3 hardware. Currently, Sony is still losing money on every ps3 sold and suff...
you're so hot when you talk tough ultimolu
When are you sending me those pics of you like you promised?
kiss kiss
