Especially with groundbreaking technologies like natal about to happen upon us, the financial position that MS is in with the 360 seems very comfortable to the one Sony has to endure with its ps3.
A price drop of the ps3 will undoubtedly make it harder to recoup ps3 losses for Sony, but will make gaming more affordable for the consumer, in the long run.

Hmmm.. I just feel that Sony is right on the knife-edge.
They have shown nearly everything they have had to offer by now, such as:
Mgs4, KZ2, UC, LBP, Resistance1, Resistance2, Motorstorm1, Motorstorm2, Home, Bluray, inbuilt-wireless, pricedrops, sku revisions and Ps3 slim.
All this while taking advantage of the brand recognition of the ps2.
What do they have to show for it?

Sony's MOST recent report shows losses on the $399 ps3 and its entire gaming division as well as a massive $390 million loss overall.
Don't argue with me... argue with Sony!
In point of fact, i could not care less if Sony is doing well or if they're doing badly.
My point was that they have taken a massive gamble with this price cut that cannot be recouped unless their revenues take off!

My gist was, that DESPITE the 70% cost reduction, the ps3 is still a net loss maker!

Of the sites that gave dedicated 'apples-to-apples' comparison reviews, not a SINGLE one (out of many hundreds of links in a simple google search) sees the ps3 version as being ANYWHERE near equal.
