Well, i have checked out the reported sku sales of both ps3 and 360 and it seems darkride66 is right!
Of course, I will show some backbone and admit this to be the case immediately. Not sure I can say the same for all the times he's been proven wrong though...
Anyway.
in the last two quarters the 360 did indeed outsell the ps3 by 190000 units!
So i guess i stand corrected on that one.

Thus the PS3 MUST outsell the 360 by 227,000 worldwide, per Month, on average.
Of course we all know this won't happen, on average, as the ps3 sales spike will only continue until MS drops the price of the arcade to $150, thereby retaking the sales lead again, until the end of this gen.

Fact is, after a 70% cost reduction, the ps3 fat was STILL sold at a loss... even at $399 rrp.
Now consider that the ps3 slim price has been reduced by $100 (!)
Tell me, how much additional cost cutting would be necessary to break even on that baby, considering the precedent of the...
just as a point of interest, the original HALO ran at 30 solid fps and it is undeniably smooth!

Nowhere in my post did i mention ANYTHING AT ALL negative about the ps3!
I merely asked other users to take a stab at the ps3 cost.
True gamers might have noticed that the unreal engine is also available for the PS3, thus making it a very fair question.
I think it just goes to show that any comment that is remotely ambiguous or may be misconstrued to be anti-ps3 is immediately damage controlled by the hardcore Sony fanbase!
