lol
'diet ps3'
... you don't mind if i borrow that term do you?
... it fits so well with 'fat ps3'.
I agree.
The included b/c chipset in the launch consoles made it worthwhile.
Tha means anyone with a 60gb b/c capable fat ps3 got a great deal as well.
Anybody selling their ps3 with b/c?
I want to buy.
I agree about the power supply.
It is a great achievement to have the Slim with an internal power supply.
Didn't the ps2 have an external psu?
In any case, the ps3 slim looks very well engineered on the inside.
Fact is,
Sony has been posting ps3 losses, even at $399.
Now, they are forced to drop the price to $299, making further losses.
A price drop in spite of losses?
THAT's desperation!
Well, a 360 redesign can only be a GOOD thing, so i am not sure why you are scared of it... maybe try some xanax for your apparent nervous condition?
You might also consider avoiding exploding laptops with original and redesigned sony batteries, given your fragile mental state:
http://www.channelbusiness....
NONE of the thousands of words you've written will change the fact that:
- ps3 has gained a mere 300k units per year since launch
- ps3 is last
- ps3 will probably stay last
- ps3 is bleeding Sony's money at $299.
yeh yeh, launched later
blah bla better value
yadda yadda bluray, kz2, uc2, mgs4.
It's all ...
Beta test?
IS that like what happened to ghostbusters ps3?
DArkride66,
Fact is,
The sales gap is 7.7 million, according to Sony's and MS's numbers
That means since launch, the ps3 has ONLY caught up 0.9million.
0.9 million?
in three years?
Damn. That's poor.
Maybe the media has a point?
Seems like a lot of ps3 fanboysism and opinion by darkride66 on his blog!
He sure seems to be interested in damage control, at the expense of the truth!
Let's review the facts, shall we?
- Fact is, the 360 has sold 31.5 Million units.
- Fact is, the ps3 has sold 23.8 Million units.
- Fact is, the 360 has outsold the ps3 over the last twelve months by well over a million units!
- Fact is, the 360 is 7.7 million units ahead, right now.

1. Make sure the reliability comes first.
2. Make sure Natal has astounding games
3. Advertise those astounding Natal games
4. Move beyond unreal engine and invest in optimised 360 first party exclusives.
4. Drop the price in 2010.
Sony's official numbers
http://www.sony.net/SonyInf...
Microsoft's official numbers
http://www.microsoft.com/ms...
add the latest corresponding four quarters and you will UNDENIABLY have to admit that:
- I was right
- you were wrong
- the ps3 was ou...
nope.
it's well over a million in the last twelve months.
Just ask darkride66.
He'll verify that!
Sad to see you deluding yourself like that.
Even sadder to see that i got disagrees for simply stating facts, while you got agrees for spreading FUD.
What is wrong with you fanboys...?
yeah ... a lot of fud being thrown about here!
Fact is, according to Sony's and MS's own numbers, the 360 has outsold the ps3 by well over a million skus over the last year.
Overall, the ps3 has gained maybe 1-2 million consoles on the 360 since launch, leaving a sales gap of about 8 million for the ps3 to still catch up after its third year on the market.
let's stick to the facts.
@ Mastertrolls..
going by your bio, you own a ps3, right?
I guess we can call it desperation on sony's part, because they have continually lost money on every sku at every pricepoint and never allowed the ps3 enough time to become profitable before dropping the price into further loss-making territory.
Now they have reduced the price by $100 AGAIN!
I foresee continued ps3 losses.
Desperation? Yep.
Yeah Nainainai
well spotted.
"It only does everything..."

-except cross game chat
-except the much vaunted b/c
lol
.... actually i question whether people are waiting for the ps3 slim.
The ps3 fat is a great deal at $299.
All the bugs have been ironed out and the hardware is rock solid!
I certainly prefer the look of the fat... the slim looks very plain and a tad cheap(er).
The slim hardware reliability is as yet unproven and also does NOT have some features that the fat has as standard.
Ironically, were I to buy a ps3, I'd pick up a fat.
I...
I have to (partly) agree with Ultimolu on that one.
The Slim does have a good chance of moving to second place!
HOWEVER, the 360 also has a good chance of keeping the ps3 in third place.
If we assume that, potentially, the ps3 DOES move to second place, we must also ask the question of *how long* will this take.
If it catches up only by 2012, then no-one will care.
2012 is too late.
The 360 will have been on the market for 7 years by ...
... now all they have to do is release a patch for:
- the vaseline effect
- the screen-tear
- the reduced textures
- the angry ps3 fans
wasn't this game led on ps3?
shame!
