There were numerous areas where the ps3 version lagged significantly.

What you guys fail to acknowledge is that UC2 is the BEST game on PS3, yet in only its SECOND week it falls to 'FLOPZA3' in Japan, the home of ps3.

I am certainly not a big Sony fan at the best of times, but it stands to reason that the continued presence of the ps2 hardware on store shelves has let Sony off the hook with regard to ps2 backward compatibility on the ps3.
While the ps2 sells, Sony doesn't need to go to the trouble of giving the ps3 backwards compatibility.
As someone who doesnt want to buy a ps2, but certainly wants to play ps2 games like 'god...
Ok so, what you guys have shown me is that the ps3 can play SOME ps1 games.
However, i was correct in saying that the ps3 has extremely limited, or NO ps2 b/c.
This is because "The 40GB, 80GB re-release and the upcoming 160GB version of the PS3 are not backward compatible with some PS2 games because all hardware chips from the former console are omitted."
