Good post. When people were choosing PS2 over the orginal XBOX they didn't seem to care that the PS2 had inferior graphics. The original XBOX (depending on the game) could do 480p, 720p and 1080i. It also had 4 controller ports and a hard drive.
And the PS2 had reliability issues.
It's what ever you prefer.
Nothing can beat a high end PC, but to do a fair comparison would be to have a PS3 or XBOX 360 connected to a 50" set against a PC connected to a 50" set, and then go from there.
You left out the Killzone and Resistance franchises which tells me you hate FPS. Usually people that hate FPS just don't know how to play them. A FP view is more immersive than a 3rd person view. It's more sim like.
Have you ever played Half Life 2?
Never been a Metal Gear fan. I Stopped caring about 3rd person games a along time ago. I love first FPS because they are just that. They are more immersive because of the 1st person view... They bring the action right on top of you. This being said, I don't care for the COD series anymore either. But give me a Red Faction 1, Halo: Combat Evolved and above all, Half Life 2 which is the best at story, gameplay and length. (IMO)
I do respect Hideo for his quality aspects ...
Great news! I was already going to purchase this game, but now I really can't wait!
It'll be a major accomplishment if this game can match or better the gameplay, storytelling and length of Half-Life 2.
Hoping Homefront has a good and deep story to it.
I'm not going to even read the whole article. This is one of the worst questions to ask, but i'll answer it anyway... NO! It's not a console killer. Apple is very ballsy these days, but even they are smart enough to stay away from a console attempt. IPad is as far as it goes.
A Crysis 2 VS. Battlefield 3 comparison would be more logical. Both franchises are stepping into the console world and both have amazing graphics engines.
If this game doesn't include those fucking respawning AI, (just because you don't advance fast enough), then it will own off this alone!
What happened to the long and deep gameplay in games like Red Faction 1, Halo: Combat Evolved and Half-Life 2? It's multiplayer and rising costs unfortunately.
I'm downloading it right now for my Xbox. As for the PS3... Crytek is most likely dialing things in, cause a first impression is a lasting impression.
Top rated sets from CNET. http://reviews.cnet.com/bes...
CNET still thinks the 2008 Pioneer Kuro is the best TV ever. http://news.cnet.com/8301-1...
Life's Good aka Lucky Goldstar aka (Goldstar use to be crap)... But if you research at CNET and AVSforums you'll find that LG put's out as good, and even better pic, than others with their new fully backlit LED sets.
Reliability and flaws in quality are another issue. Every manufacture has issues with tv's. That's the one thing that strains my brain when over at AVSforums... You here so many people complaining about their tv's build quality that it m...
Sony does make some good sets, but if you ever visit http://www.avsforum.com/avs... you'll read how much the videophiles prefer the top end Panasonic plasmas, Samsung fully backlit LED's and even more so in the past year or two the LG fully backlit LED's. This being said, your own eye is really the only thing that matters.
In addition... It was Samsung that helped Sony launch ...
All this suing has gotten pretty comical. LG really doesn't need the money either, and they own Sony when it comes to things like world wide TV sales. Last years market share numbers. - http://news.cnet.com/8301-3...
Agreed! Is it asking too much for just an ounce of info on episode 3 or Half-Life 3?
Here is some (short) early 4 year old gameplay. http://www.gametrailers.com... The game is using the Chrome Engine 4 which what is used in Sniper: Ghost Warrior. Huge open environments.
Very much looking forward to the game, but a movie called THE DEAD should also be getting attention. (trailer) http://www.joblo.com/video/...
I would still much prefer a 1st person view. Long live Red Faction 1.
