I just got the HD version of Perfect Dark on xbox live arcade for $5.00.
I'll agree with you on lack luster graphics. I got a chance for a fair comparison (TV wise)... I got to play Mario Kart on a 50" set at brothers house. I too game on a 50" set with my 360 and PS3. Anyway... I was not impressed at all with the graphics. It didn't help any by taking a game that is in 480p and blowing it up on such a large display.
I could maybe see an Episode 3 out before Black Mesa Source, but no way in hell a Half Life 3. If nothing is said at E3 then Black Mesa will be out first.
I've watched the Black Mesa Source trailer several times, and I think it's stunning. I wish they would take down the 2009 finish date. However, the update says it'll be finished when it's finished.
Valve should just hand off Half-Life 3 to some modders. They seem to be more dedicated, and will do it for free.

Depth and viewing angles will be something I'll have to see for myself... Even though I'm not expecting perfection.

I have my doubts, but i'll still keep an open mind. Even if it turns out that this game becomes the new console graphic king, I doubt you'll have some of the Sony loyalists admitting that a multiplatform game is better than some of Sony's exclusives.
City Interactive announced a few weeks back that they hit the 1 million mark with units sold.
I was the biggest Mitsubishi fan back in the 80's and 90's. They had some of the best chassis in their sets, but times have changed. All they sell now is over priced sets with a mediocre display.
Even though Samsung doesn't need Japan, they lead the world wide TV market with 17% to Sony's 6%.
And it was Samsung that helped Sony launch their Bravia line.
However, all manufacturers have issues with their sets.

Iv'e said this before... The Japanese like Japanes products. This is why Samsung pulled out of Japan back in 2007.
Also, it's just different over there. A PS2 game sold more at #6 on the charts last week over Crysis 2 (PS3) at #12.
This is a day one purchase for me. The one thing this non linear game has is massive open levels. This should lead to a nice change of pace... A little more tactical instead of constantly pushing forward to kill enemy A.I. before they respawn.

No denying a lack of exclusives for the 360 this year, and uncalled for to be honest. But... I've said this before about games appearing on both platforms this year:

Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
Fear 3
Battlefield 3
Deus Ex
Opperation Flashpoint: Red River
Gears Of War 3 and Uncharted 3 will have to wait for me.
I like to see a company profit from it's gaming division, because only good can come from it.
The old SEGA days were good for a while, but turned very ugly as there profits went right down the toilet.

Microsoft has a big edge in the U.S.

Price drop? Sony has been happy to have dug themselves out of a financial hole the past few years....
I don't have proof that it would sell twice the number, however... FPS's always sell better on the xbox brand, and I have been a contributor since Halo: Combat Evolved.
You could make an argument that if Killzone 3 was released only for the 360, it would have sold twice the number it's done on the PS3.

Microsoft may not have had the greatest E3 presentation last year, But Kinect and the redesign of the 360 had an immediate sales impact.
It doesn't even matter who "wins" E3. It's more advertising and marketing than anything else.
Microsoft needs to focus a little more on Europe, forget Japan and keep doing what they'er doing in the states. Europe is a battleground!
