"It's subjective."
You can say the same about Xbox exclusives. Not everyone cares about halo and forza. What is objective is that PS4 has way more exclusives so there's a much better chance of you finding what you want on the PS4.
"Majority of those exclusives aren't bought by the fan base."
That's extremely ironic coming from an Xbox fan. How many copies did sunset overdrive, quantum break, and ryse sell? Even Xbox's establis...
@alb1899
The article you linked to just says Playground Games is opening a new studio to work on a new game, not Turn 10. There's no evidence that the new game being developed by Playground is an Xbox exclusive since Microsoft doesn't own Playground.
@4Show
There has been seven Halo's in the main series, not counting spin-offs like Halo Wars. Another Halo is in the works. There has been five Gears of War's in the main series and another Gears in the works. By contrasts, there has been four Uncharted's in the main series and the series has ended. Naughty Dog has also made The Last of Us in between U3 and U4. The degree to which Sony and Microsoft milk their respective franchises isn't even close. The irony is that ...

"Them selling the PS1 and PS2 games and offering PS now isn't anti consumer. Them not allowing any form of backwards compatability when their system is *more than capable* of running the software necessary to play PS1 and PS2 games is. There is a difference."
I don't see the difference. How are they "not allowing" backwards compatibility? They aren't obligated to put backwards compatibility into the PS4. They didn't not put backw...
@Princess
I don't get why you make such a big deal about the lack of backwards compatibility and exclusive content being "anti-consumer". You don't have to buy those PS1 and PS2 games. You don't have to buy PS Now. I do agree with you that those PS1 and PS2 games are expensive. That's why I haven't bought a single one. Sony offered a product at a certain price. You can choose whether or not to buy it. How is that anti-consumer? As far as paying for exclu...
@mark-parch
I've seen plenty of articles criticizing sony's stance on backwards compatibility and cross play so the hate goes both ways. Why should criticism towards Microsoft "need to stop"? I haven't turned on my Xbox One since I played quantum break last year. I will stop criticizing them when they pump out games of the same quality and quantity as the competition.
@Eatcrow
Then why do I care whether or not they are "assholes"? If you make good quality games and sell them at a reasonable price, then I am going to buy them. I don't really care what they say to some interviewer about backwards compatibility or cross play. Judging by sales, most people don't either. The only thing I care about is games, not what some PR person said in some interview.
@Death
How do you he is a gamer? Because he says he is? I don't really care whether or not he is a "gamer". I care about what he does, and so far, he hasn't delivered on his promises.
Those are good features but none of those features you mention involve making more games. At the end of the day, features are good but you need compelling games to sell your console.
Detroit actually received positive previews and ended up winning Gamespot's Best of E3 award.

"Its more powerful and does alot more than PS4 Pro and thats $399."
I don't see how it does "a lot more" than the PS4 Pro. Maybe it does a lot more timed exclusive indies.
I don't care about it being the most powerful console. I care about it having no games. I don't have a 4K tv. Most people don't. I already have an Xbox One. I don't need to pay $500 for an Xbox One X just to play slightly better looking indie games. If the $250 Xbox One S isn't selling, what makes you think a $500 Xbox One X will sell?
The problem is Microsoft's multiplayer-focused franchises are declining in quality and popularity. You sort of answered your own question with this:
"The most played games are battlefield,COD, GTA Online and Overwatch"... and not Halo and Gears.
Halo 5 is the lowest selling and lowest scoring Halo in the series. Gears 4 is the lowest selling and lowest scoring Gears in the series. Multiplayer shooter is a crowded genre. It doesn't make sense for Microsoft t...
They have invested in games all right... timed exclusive indie games.

"Xbox fans are benefiting from the position Microsoft is in"
I haven't turned on my Xbox One since last April when I played Quantum Break. I don't see how I am benefiting from them being in last place.
Sony took a bigger shot: "true exclusive. This is a true exclusive [when describing Spider-Man]."
Shadow of the Colossus is a full remake. I look forward to playing it as I haven't played the original when it was on the PS2. Microsoft really did not impressed me this year. They showed 22 "exclusives", 20 of which were timed exclusive indies. I also hated how they tried to mislead people by saying "exclusive" every time a game was shown when it turned out to be a timed exclusive only. I was interested in seeing more of Crackdown 3 only to have them show a 2 minute t...
It didn't help Microsoft either. Rise of the Tomb Raider sold rather poorly on Xbox One and it didn't move any Xbox Ones.
For whoever agreed to the Xbox exclusivity. The studio director of Crystal Dynamics was forced to resign because he made Rise of the Tomb Raider a timed exclusive. Someone at Square must not like his job.
They've learned their lesson. They went crawling back to Sony with spider-man. No pun intended.
