I would rather MS make one, just one, exclusive on the level of uncharted or horizon.

@moldybread
You just refuted yourself.
"PS1 offered better storage and discs were cheaper for third party."
Yes, and third parties went PS1 exclusive because of the better storage. The Final Fantasy series, Metal Gear Solid series, and Resident Evil series all went PS1 exclusive because of the better storage, and people bought PS1s because of those exclusives. Exclusives matter during the PS1 era.

The first article you cited only mentions the Switch outselling the PS4 in Japan. The second article only mentions the Switch outselling the PS4 in July in the US. What does any of that have anything to do with the Xbox One and its lack of exclusives? Is it not a fact that the PS4 is dominating the Xbox One in terms of sales? The second article even says the PS4 remains the best-selling console for the year. Since you brought up the Switch, one of the reasons the Switch is suc...

"Real reason" for some. Not enough reason for most people.

The differences in stability between PSN and Xbox Live is negligible. The Elite controller is better but it also costs $150. Not worth the money in my opinion. Multi-platform games will look better with the Xbox One X but it also costs $500. Not worth it for me as I don't even have a 4k TV. Most people don't for that matter. More PC players adopt the Xbox controller because that's the only controller the PC supports. You need to do some tinkering to even get the DS4 to work on PC....

Obviously, this is going nowhere. Again, everyone agrees with you that mp games make more money overall. I think you'll also agree that mp shooters is an overcrowded genre. In light of these facts, what should the big three console makers do about it? That is the question that should be asked. Simply stating broadly that mp games make more money overall doesn't add anything to the discussion. I think that MS should follow Sony and focus more on sp games because of all the facts and re...

Once again, you've missed the point. No one is disputing the fact (yes, fact) that overall, mp games make more money than sp games. What we are saying (at least what I'm saying) is that the majority of the mp shooter pie is already taken by a few games - CoD, Battlefield, Overwatch, Destiny... and that's it. MS is trying to take a wedge of that pie and they are failing. The single player game genre is much less crowded. Even "niche" games like Nier, Nioh, The Last Guardi...

You didn't understand my point at all, so I'm going to repeat it. The mp shooter genre is over saturated. For every CoD and Overwatch, there are 10 mp shooters that fail. MS is trying to compete with the CoD's and Overwatch's and they are failing. Halo and gears are in decline. Sony is doing the smart thing by partnering with the big mp shooters while developing their own sp games. If you really like sp games as you've claimed, then you should press...

UCForce just provided the FACT that for every CoD and Overwatch, there's an Evolve, Titanfall 2, and Lawbreakers. The FACT is that the mp shooter genre is crowded and most mp shooters actually fail to make money. That is why even Halo and Gears are in decline. Sony is smart in partnering with the big mp shooters (CoD and Destiny) while diversifying their portfolio with exclusive sp focused games. The messiah would be wise to do the same instead of downplaying sp ga...

The PS4 still had more exclusives in the first three years than Xbox One.

We did hold Sony's feet to the fire during the PS3 days. A lot of gamers switched to the xbox 360. Then Sony started releasing hit after hit for the PS3 while MS virtually stopped supporting the 360 during the second half of the generation. PS3 sales started to pick up to the point where PS3 ended up tying with the 360 in terms of sales. For this generation, MS has again virtually stopped supporting the Xbox One. Their only answer is to release a $500 mid-gen upgrade with few exclusives b...

Rise of the Tomb Raider crashed on me several times. My saved game wouldn't load. It took me several tries to get it to load. I was afraid I would have to start over. Quantum Break also crashed on me one time. It happened to Angry Joe as well if you watch his review of Quantum Break.

The reason multi-platform games are bestsellers is because casual gamers overwhelming buy games like Call of Duty and Madden. Casual gamers aren't going to shell out $500 just to play slightly better looking multi-platform games especially when the regular PS4 only costs half of that. If casual gamers always want to play the best looking version of multiplats regardless of the costs, then the PC versions of multiplats would always be the best selling.

Live is not better than PSN. Controller preference is entirely subjective. I actually prefer the DS4 with its symmetrical joysticks. If you have a 4k TV, don't have a gaming PC, don't already have an Xbox One, and want to pay $500 for a mid-gen upgrade with better looking multi-platform games and no exclusives, then by all means, buy an Xbox One X. If you want a console with award winning exclusives and have access to the same multi-platform games, then just buy a PS4 or PS4 pro.

I just stated I have a backlog of PS4 exclusives, so yes, I want exclusives more than backwards compatibility and cross-platform play, both features I've never used. I also don't have a 4k TV, so I don't intend on buying a $500 Xbox One X. The reason why third party games remain bestsellers is because casual gamers overwhelmingly buy games like Call of Duty and Destiny. If your argument is that casual gamers buy third party games, therefore exclusives aren't as...

The problem is for every Call of Duty and Battlefield, there are ten multiplayer shooters that failed to succeed. For every World of Warcraft, there are ten MMOs that failed to succeed. Even Microsoft's established shooters Halo and Gears of War couldn't keep up with top shooters like Call of Duty and Overwatch. The multiplayer shooter is a crowded genre and Microsoft will keep running into stiff competition. They would be wise to invest in single player games, but sadly, they just se...

If you are going to say PS4 exclusives that are also available on PC are not really exclusive, then Xbox has zero exclusives.

"X1X doesn't need exclusives to sell"
Funniest thing I've read in a long while. How is having no exclusives working out for the regular Xbox One? If the $250 Xbox One isn't selling, what makes you think the $500 Xbox One X is going to sell? Do you seriously think a $500 Xbox One X is going to sell a lot more than a $250 Xbox One?
