“Battered wives”? What kind of an analogy is that? Is Phil Spencer the abusive husband? Is he a polygamist? Does he beat you if you don’t buy an Xbox One x? Seriously, just stop before you make a bigger fool of yourself.

I was responding to the comment by ikenda. He is the one who brought up sales, not me.

The PS4 sold 67.5 million units as of September 2017. The Xbox One sold approximately 31 million as of September 2017 (rough estimate since MS stopped releasing numbers). The PS4 is well on its way to joining the 100 million club. The Xbox One will be lucky to sell 50 million units. This generation has 2-3 years left. Do you seriously think Xbox One will catch up to PS4, let alone surpass it? If you really do think that, then Deadsilence is right to call you delusional.

PS4 and Xbox One have been the same price for a long time now with the Xbox One actually cheaper at certain points. Speaking of price, the switch is more expensive and yet is selling very well partly due to its exclusives. Just admit Xbox One is losing because of a lack of exclusives.

Wow, I've never seen anyone bury himself so quickly. You are always on PS4 articles, so according to your own logic, you must have really missed out on a lot.

And we'll have access to those same multiplat games as well as dozens of award winning exclusives. Heck, even if you only have a regular Xbox One, you'll still have access to those multiplats. No need to pay $500 for slightly better looking multiplat games as most people don't even 4K tv's.

Good for you. Most people don't have 4K TV's either. I'll get a 4K tv when the ps5 comes out.

I know I don't want to pay $500 for a mid gen upgrade when I don't even have a 4K tv.

Those "quick time event" games are all award winning. I'd rather play award winning games than another multiplayer game that is currently available on PC and will be available on PS4. The fact is the PS4 has way more games and will have way more games than the Xbox One.

I have an Xbox One and I have been extremely disappointed by MS. I haven't turned it on since I played quantum break last year. A lot of Xbox One owners have a problem with its lack of exclusives. That's why Phil spencer and Aaron Greenburg constantly need to defend the Xbox One's lack of exclusives. Even Ryan McCaffrey, ign's Xbox editor, acknowledges this problem.

@moldybread
Exactly, only 20% of PS4s sold are PS4 Pro. There are approximately 60 million PS4s; 20% of that is 12 million. And PS4 is the best selling console right now. There are approximately 30 million Xbox Ones. Let's say 20% will be Xbox One X; that's only 6 million. And the Xbox One X hasn't even released yet. Currently, there is only one console maker selling an iterative console. Can you imagine three console makers releasing iterative consoles every three years?...

3044d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Iterative consoles won't work for the foreseeable future. Consoles aren't nearly as mainstream as cellphones. The cellphone market is big enough to support iterative generations, not to mention payment plans are available. It is not that console gamers are resistant to change. It is just the small market size compared to cellphones. Your comparison to VHS machines is disingenuous. VHS came out in the 1970s. DVD came out in 1997. For the first few years after the DVD came out, most peo...

The PS4 is still outselling the Switch worldwide. Where are you getting your numbers? Furthermore, the reason the Switch is selling is partly due to its exclusives. Even if what you say is true, you have just proven that exclusives matter. Congratulations.

@343
That would explain why the PS4 sold better at launch. However, we are four years into the generation. The PS4 and Xbox One are now the same price with the Xbox One actually cheaper at some points. Just admit the Xbox One has an exclusives problem and you'll be better off.

There seems to be a lot of these "exceptions" then. Basically, most exclusives are lucky to sell to 2% of the user base... except horizon, uncharted, the last of us, bloodborne, GT, god of war, persona...etc. Also, as I've said before, it's a moot point. The reason Sony makes exclusives is to make profit from the games themselves and to get people to buy PS4s. Even exclusives that sell to less than 2% make a profit because of the large user base. To see the impact of exclusi...

"I wouldn't choose Knack 2 over better hardware. The reason just about everyone jumping on the exclusives train are full of it is because not one person has said "which games"? If I was forced to choose between games I don't want or hardware that enhances the games I do want, I'm going with the hardware."
I guess you aren't interested in Uncharted, Horizon, Bloodborne, Nier, Nioh, etc. either. Since you are only interested in what the "majorit...
