Freeflow Combat? Say less!
Something tells me it's more in the line of God of War/TLOU than Spider-Man
There was no "released footage", it was literally leaked mechanical/dev builds that were testing features.
Consumer eyes were never meant to see that at the end of the day without the context of development.
While I see that his background comes from a developer culture that was so hell bent on Live Services, he was so wrong on this. And just gaslit people constantly.
This is at its core, game preservation. Something every developer should CHEER for, for your creations should outlast you. And he ended up being such a "Maximizing Profits" bootlicker. Sad to watch.
Yeah, the center right. It has just not been as prominent a push. It's just how it is.
Would be seated.
The funniest part of it all is that quite a few nations have access to these same games, seldom they all have this issue. 😂

The U.S. Republicans are blaming gun violence on video games

Don't let this franchise die. MGS Collection Vol 2. now, need MGS4 and Peace Walker on PS5 already!
I think it really depends on the game.
Same approach can't work for every game; MGS Twin Snakes tried to bring in MGS2 gameplay improvements to MGS1, and it suffered the consequences; MGS1 was designed with limitations in mind. Enemy count, elevations, FOV, line of sight. All of that was incorporated to the part of the design.
So if MGS1 was to get the remake treatment again; they'd have to keep the gameplay limitations, which may serve as hindere...
Supposed to be like an early Origin story. Makes sense!
Fun fact: The actor also played Dexter Morgan in Dexter Original Sin!
Unlike what we may personally think, most AC games have received generally favorable critical acclaim and managed enough commercial success to warrant an uncomfortable amount of sequels. 😂
I'd be on board!
It could be great! He worked as Design Director on Arkham: Origins & Game Director on Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Valhalla and Origins.
I think this is a great sign that Rocksteady is shifting back to a Single Player experience after Suicide Squad. That's reason enough for me to celebrate.
Learn before you speak. It can't come at the very last. Any practiced developer will tell you that.
Optimization is a "journey" so to speak. Otherwise systems snag, chug, collapse or features get wholly removed during that last stage because they can't make shit run.
The headline is a bit click-baity. But his words of wisdom here are essentially: “they keep leaving optimization for last” (paraphrasing).
In well-developed studios like DICE, Epic Games, Kojima Productions, and Rockstar Games, optimization starts happening during feature implementation. First, features (Well thought out & R&Dd) are added, then once they work, the optimization process begins right away.
It is not an easy method. It takes time, but...
Yeah...This is also using one of the early versions of UE5 which did not have quite a bit of the optimization the current engine version has right now.
The next few game patches will bring up the performance a bit purely just by engine upgrade.
Much better for his heart.
Whomever WOTC picks for BG4 has some quite big shoes to fill. If it can’t match or surpass Larian quality, it is best to focus their efforts on another property within the D&D umbrella, better to avoid the fire 😂
It looks like they swapped to an "observer" camera to show some of the environment etc. to the dev team. Combat looks a lot like Arkham freeflow jumping from target to target. That's likely not the game cam.
