It seems like they had no clue that an online component even existed from reading the review. Sure, the single player campaign is around 6 hours like most FPS, but the real longevity is in the multiplayer. It's great to hear that they really enjoyed the single player, though.
Extremely well written review. While I don't know if I agree totally yet without having played the entire game for myself, the reviewer goes extremely in depth with a lot of the features and I actually enjoyed the reading it. I wish more reviews from the bigger websites were written this well.
I wouldn't call Call of Juarez a gem, but it was a pretty good first person shooter. Online was abysmal, though.
Loved the first one. Can't wait to play!
Tooth!!!!!
It said the release is May 24!!!!! Oh boy, can't wait 3 months for this!
Famitsu is WAY too nice to some games. 9's and 8's for Two Worlds 2? They've gone soft recently.
This looks kind of interesting. I might pick it up along with Stacking and Tales about a Blob today.
I agree. I think the raw gameplay of the first Infamous was fantastic, but Empire city was a bit lifeless and the story was a little heavy handed. However, Sly 1 was very similar having great gameplay, but many design issues. Sly 2 was vastly better and I have no doubt that they'll do the same with Infamous 2.
It still just plays the Nintendo one, even on gametrailers.com.
Yeah, the amount of people on the streets in that part was impressive also.
Well, both of these are supposed to be of extremely high power because they're harder to use. Unless you're skilled at these weapons you won't get many kills with them. Personally, I think they're very well balanced into the multiplayer compared to others like CoD or even Battlefield.
Great! looks like the game will end up with a high 8 metascore which is awesome. Lets face it, Killzone just doesn't have as mass appealing of a universe as Halo or COD. However, the gameplay seems to have really been improved which is great.
Everyone seems to say the story is absolutely atrocious and there should have been online coop. Thats pretty much the only complaints, but they are universal. While I don't think this kind of game should be knocked down because of its story, Guerilla obviously did make it a focal point and it didn't succeed.
What? Most of the scores are above 9's. Anyways, this review is only on the single player.
Mintberry Crunch, all I have to say to you is this: SHABLAGOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
Those trees blowing in the wind look REALLY cool.
Sorry, I'm not. Honestly, compared to other games coming out this year, SOCOM 4 isn't even on the radar. I played SOCOM 2 and loved it, skipped 3 and Confrontation, and now I'm excited for SOCOM 4.
This one could be a huge sleeper hit this year.
While I agree with this comment for many games this generation, sometimes I want just a short single player campaign. Personally, I wouldn't want to play a 10-12 hour long campaign for an FPS unless it's bioshock or something like that. What I want from Killzone 3 is an engrossing, concise single player mode with lots of big set pieces that is around 7-8 hours and a robust online mode. If I want a long game, I'll go play an RPG or certain action games.
