That is right! The one with the slide pads is the most current version. It seems Nintendo is hell bent on making us love the slide pad, which I don't mind as long as its comfortable to hold...
not to mention that with the CELL chip being proprietary technology, the only company using this tech in any consumer electronics is Sony. Which means that they aren't subsidizing the cost of manufacturing this at all, which leaves Sony absorbing all of the costs which puts them at a disadvantaged against both Microsoft and Nintendo. Who chooses to use modified chips already in production and allows them to negotiate better wholesale prices for using these chips in their systems because ...
Sony is going to ditch the CELL processor and here's why. Sony's original plan for the CELL technology was for it to be so widespread that it would be incorporated into cellphones, tv's and many other electronic devices. Well if Sony was really that sold on the CELL technology, wouldn't they have opted for using it in the vita as well? Or their new tablet devices? It just didn't work out the way Sony was hoping it would by them investing so heavily into this idea!
$300 would be an amazing price for this system to launch at! Its a premium price but not as steep as 360 or PS3 were to scare the average consumer away from making the purchase. Plus it will most likely come with some packed in software as well so Nintendo would give this system great value for the initial cost
I'm sure there are lots of games that run at 60 fps. But they probably have lower resolutions and sacrifice some graphical effects to achieve this though...
People do see and understand that point, but u can't honestly say that developers will all support the PS3 games with features that may or may not even be utilized on the system. Developers can't guess how many people are going to pick up the PSV and purchase their games as well.
The things u aren't considering is how many others that are willing to sell or trade their systems in as well to make the jump... But its childish comments and consistent garbage postings that ruins sites like these where normal gamers just come to have healthy debates and conversations with others...
@Colwyn:- U may be the most delusional Sony fan imaginable! Lets point out all of the things u have quoted inaccurate.
"The 3ds is incomplete"- to say this means that there is not one great gaming experience on the 3ds without using the Circle Pad Pro. If u can honestly say this then that means that both the PS3 and 360 were incomplete systems before they came out with move and kinect respectively.
"The 3ds is lacking quality games!"- well this is just laug...
I can't wait for the WiiU to come out so everyone will stop posting stupid articles like these. Remote play won't hold a candle to the depth of WiiU features. it isn't like it was the grand selling point of the psp and that system was capable of this as well... So like I stated in another article I can't wait for the WiiU to come out so I can sell my PS3. Because if this is what it means to be a Sony contributor and to be in the same group as these rabid Sony fans then no than...
Well I think you are making this sound sensational! Because it obviously makes since that a company that hasn't posted a loss in decades and isn't known for losing money on hardware sold. Must have billions stashed in the bank, so it's certainly not going down the tube overnight as many of you would hopefully wish for... So deal with it!
The most misleading thing about Nintendo's financial reports is that they are of course including all of their R&D for the WiiU cost. Which makes a huge difference on profits coming in. So some level of loss should be expected and this would have been more understandable if it was properly explained to the public.
Well I guess this is how doomed Nintendo is because even though I have great games for my PS3, I'm so bored with it now and ready for something new. So I will gladly be selling it to help fund my WiiU purchase! There's gonna be lots of launch games to purchase on day one :)
Probably that BattleField 4 is leading development on the WiiU and that Nintendo is partnering with EA to use their Onlive services.
Very well said...
@Adolph Fitler: I don't think u drink the cool aid, u bathe in this stuff! Where do u even get your numbers from? Because nothing u said was accurate at all. Where was it reported that the 720 will only be 15% more powerful than the 360? What makes u think that developers haven't tried using the CELL chip to its fullest? The fact of the matter is Sony presented a poor hardware design in the PS3. Its suppose to be so much more than the 360 but it doesn't show it...
People who talk about casual gamers as if they aren't gamers as well make me sick... The whole tone comes across fascist & elitist! The holier than thou attitude is just disgusting, because casual gamers spend their money just like the rest of us. With the profits going towards the same companies that bring us our beloved gaming franchises consistently.
I think they are on the right track, and if they keep with the same momentum of the 3ds with the WiiU, the system will do well. Nintendo knows that they need the right software to sell this device and hopefully the amount of content that comes loaded will make the WiiU a force to be reckoned with. There's a current interview with this woman that works for Nintendo, I think she's in marketing. But you could tell in the interview she was trying to choose her words very carefully, but wa...
Who cares anymore, as long as Nintendo is including some flash ram so that developers can put the same elements into every game then that's all that matters. With Nintendo supporting SD cards and now external usb drives with WiiU. They have covered their bases completely if u need the extra storage on WiiU.
Will u guys get of off this its only capable of current gen nonsense! The WiiU will have better graphics than both 360 & PS3 hands down...
As someone stated above, the amount of RAM can become overkill if its slow! Nintendo would do well to have 2gbs of very fast RAM with low latency, versus 4-6gbs of RAM being much slower but just for the sake of having lots in the system.
