Ps3 & 360 are definitely inferior to wiiu, just by how much we don't know yet! People that think Ps3 still has so much more to give really doesn't understand how hardware works then...

I think people really aren't getting the point here... Even if you look at the information in the article it states v5 of the development kit... This should tell people old these articles really are! It was already confirmed at CES that select few development companies have been issued access to v6 which is decidedly more powerful than v5 was... Plainly someone is bored and chose to post some very old information

Id pay $399 but no more, since that was what I paid for both the 360 & ps3 each. Which were appropriate next-gen system prices at the time...

But as someone stated above this is quite a bit of cash to have on hand for a company that specializes in videogames. Sony sells tv's and a host of other consumer electronics which Nintendo doesn't, so they should have a bigger bank account!
P.s. You have your zeros counted wrong it says 10 billion not million, that makes a big difference when arguing your views...

So I'm really glad that the N4G community here commenting on next-gen hardware capabilities are in the know. Because it saves me some time in waiting for "factual" information to come from the companies that actually manufacture the systems, or from the developers that will be making the games...

What a big incentive for sure! Its gotta generate quite a bit of WiiU development with free middleware from developers both larger and small alike

They may have a great working business relationship but they aren't friends... Factor 5 was very exclusive to Nintendo and even helped design parts of the Gamecube tech with Nintendo. Not to mention the exclusive games they made as well, but that didn't stop Factor 5 from going over to Sony though... So business is business when it comes down to it

Well this is good news either way people want to try and spin this into something negative... what reasons does Mark Reign need to promote the WiiU for. Epic's games or engines weren't even on the Wii this gen, so we know its not like he's doing this just to garner more business for the company. He must of seen something that really impressed him to speak such glowing things about it in the press. And at the end of the day I trust much more of what he's seen and knows about th...

Nice and classic of you to think and say that Nintendo systems only sell to children. Well 90million plus kids must be very persuasive then to get all of those systems sold... Its funny how its ok for analysts to assume that when Wii owners are done with the Wii, they will just move on to either the ps3 or 360 when they want something more. But believe that its impossible to think people will want WiiU if they already own a Wii! Now explain to me how that makes any sense whatsoever please? No...

Well you ask a baited question, because obviously as of right now Nintendo has yet to even unveil all that the WiiU is capable of. So how can anyone answer any pertinent questions consumers may have as of right now! All that can be assessed from what is known currently, is that many developers are excited about this system that Nintendo has created and its been awhile since we've heard 3rd party companies talking about a Nintendo system like this

Actually he wasn't right, because he stated that Nintendo should release and update to the wii-mote system of the Wii by making it HD. Nintendo has done much more than that by introducing a whole new method of gameplay with the WiiU console.

I Really hope all of the fan-boy's hype is lived up to with the ps4 and xbox720... People have these systems on a cloud and we know next to nothing about either one just yet. So while you guys are waiting for what you think will be the "second coming" ill be enjoying my WiiU games this year!!!

It says this year so it must be the WiiU! My guess is it will be at e3 with the full unveiling of the WiiU console with its new design and everything

That's exactly what I was thinking as well

So when either Sony or Microsoft have made changes in the development process to either the ps3, 360 or Vita what does that say about them? Anyone with half a thought wouldn't see this as a negative thing. Specially in Sony and Nintendo's case because they are two Japanese companies at the heart of it, that wouldn't normally operate in this fashion. This market has to evolve to stay alive and not everything is doom and gloom or a travesty because its related to Nintendo and most h...

Which is the most interesting thing because those games looked really sharp and that's on early dev kits. So imagine what is gonna be shown on the final hardware at e3...

I'm willing to spend $400 for the WiiU, so if this news is true then it will make the purchase all the more warranted. While silencing the nay-sayers at the same time...
@Catfrog: of course you can tweak hardware that isn't on the market yet! What are you saying? Up until the system goes into full production swing Nintendo can tweak the cpu & gpu speeds, ram, # of usb ports etc... Those are tweaks to the system

All of these facts and quotes are wasted on most N4G readers! They love false hype and lies it seems... So you pointing out articles from developers that have actually worked with WiiU hardware is just the furthest thing for them to reach mentally

This is why I'm most excited for e3 because I can hardly wait to see what all this system can do... Its the first system that nintendo isn't denying needing to be competent on the multimedia level. They understand now that to be able to continue to sell and development new avenues of business, they have to be willing to look outside of just gaming only. The Wii adopted this through software updates to incorporate netflix and now hulu, but these were probably both afterthoughts in the ...

What's most appalling to me is Sony fans saying that the ps3/vita combo will be able to do everything that the WiiU will. But the only thing we've actually seen remote play doing kinda ok was streaming video feed to allow play on the vita. Well I hate to burst a lot of bubbles around here but the WiiU was shown doing many more functions than this and it was on the fly. The videos I've seen on vita remote play functions have all had lag and load times in the same fashion that ipad ...
