So someone please tell me this! The GameCube was more powerful than the ps2 and it was obviously clear in games like RougeSquadron and Resident Evil 4. So if a system that was marginally more powerful than ps2 showed improvements in graphical quality then why wouldn't the Wii U which wil be at least 3-4 times the power of ps3 and 360. As long as the Wii U is capable of HD graphics it will get versions of multiplatform games. By most of these standards the PS3 and 360 shouldnt have gotten some games because their PC counterparts had much better graphics. Graphic engines are scaleable to make up for the lesser hardware this has been done for years of course...
Ok so Vita has a large list of games, but not many stand out to me. And lets face it people, Sony needs a strong line up of games right now! They are launching against a very strong, still pretty new 3ds. Nintendo didnt have to deal with this last year when 3ds launched. Did the 3ds line up suck? Because all though manufacturers are planning to launch 4k tv's soon, they have to find a way to get these nice people that just bought their first hd 1080p tv last year to wanna upgrade! Well unlike PC's consoles don't just have graphics cards in them so one can't just compare nextgen consoles to current graphics cards. Consoles are optimized to utilize the custom hardware inside at a fraction of what beloved PC's cost. So how did resolution and framerates become the guidelines of determining who's hardcore or not? To be honest I just wanna play great games, there are many really crappy games that look good, but are just horrible to play...
They must market the exclusive games & content, unique ways to play and the extra stuff that this system will be able to do out of the box. The hardcore buyers will be there day 1 without any advertisement at all, but the average consumer likes value and the feeling that they are getting more for their money.
I have to say the way these companies are milking these franchises every year reminds me of how Guitar Hero and Rock Band were both very profitable and successful as well, but look at where they are now! I am not into the whole Call of Duty series myself but i'd hate to see such a franchise that has gotten so many current gamers gaming gone before its time.
I think sony is further along with the ps4 then they are letting on. There are probably a couple of variations they are contending with, something that could give them options and flexibility to launch sooner with a less advanced system but more competitively priced if need be to not let Microsoft and Nintendo run away in the next generation of consoles

Just like Factor 5 was very successful under the Nintendo umbrella, I think certain developers just mesh better with eachother. I could never see Naughty Dawg anywhere else but with Sony and Sony probably gives them a level of freedom to create amazing games that maybe Nintendo or Microsoft never would. So Rares downfall probably had more to do with them becoming a turn out quick hit machine versus taking their time and putting out exactly what they want. Lets face it, Rare back in the day us...

I hate to tell anyone that's been living under a rock for quite some time but MGS hasn't been the system selling franchise since it's days on the PS2. That's why they keep refreshing this game so much. When you have games like Skyrim, Assasins Creed, Batman,GTA, Mass Effect and Bio Shock just to name a few. The Metal Gear games don't look all that important anymore. Gone are the days when the Japanese software developers use to rule the gaming industry.
1st of all who doesn't have a cell phone these days, i've seen 12yr old kids walking around with phones in the mall.
