I know the angle you are going for with this comment, but to suggest that a $20 add on is expensive is reaching pretty far actually. It does seem like an afterthought on Nintendo's behalf but in no way shape or form is it expensive
Well something they may agree on is Nintendo has cash in storage by the stockpile and Sony is in dire troubles right now. So these fanboys need to get out in the real world and support Sony with their wallets and not disagree votes on N4G, because that's not gonna save the company... Lol
But in the end at the exact same price as psVita with far less games, the 3ds sold far more systems. I'm not harsh on the PsVita but it seems as though Sony keeps pushing devices that nobody needs or wants right now... The Psp is still selling very well in comparison to the Vita and Sony once again hurt themselves by not making this thing backwards compatible out of the box. Not to mention that psp had Monster Hunter exclusively that go around and 3ds is getting 2 versions of the game. So...

Honestly if Sony retired the ps3 they would be no better than Sega and their many hardware reveals and revisions! The problems Sony is facing is facing is that the Ps3 is selling well and the Psp is still selling well. So a company must give good reason for people to want to upgrade to their latest greatest hardware and I don't see Sony addressing this issue as well as they should
I know people said they laughed at the Wii, but considering the Wiiu is out in a few months. These sales are actually pretty good seeing as how mostly everyone knows that Nintendo's next system is on its way. Sony is in a hard position here, because yes they need to spur more PsVita sales. But they also need it to be profitable for them as well
Despite what most people think here! Sony is probably looking for their version of a Playstation Wii this gen... (Meaning a ps4 system equivalent to 2 ps3's taped together with a unique game play experience that Sony can make truck loads of money on from the beginning.) Sony needs money and they can't afford to go ape shit tech-wise just to appease a few million graphics whores
Capcom can keep the game for that price!
Actually a game that would be amazing on the 3ds is a new version of GyroMite! Bring this game back Nintendo... I for one though would still like to see an original IP from Retro Studios. This development house has so much promise, but I don't want to see them get stagnant from just working on renovating old Nintendo IP's for a living...
Just because they are on a hiring spree what does this have to do with launch software for the console being ready? Retro already had over 100 members and maybe these new hires are to form a second larger team for an additional project... I fully expect Retro to have something ready at or near the launch window. simply because they haven't had any major projects in their stable for some time and I'm pretty sure Retro were one of the very first teams to get every iteration of the wiiu ...

@CaptainN: I was gonna say the same exact thing! Its not like this studio approached Nintendo to do second party work for them. If they need to get with a better publisher to get games ideas made then that's on them... But 3rd parties are getting development kits, its the studios with the major HD games in demand though that are Nintendo's main priority! Skyrim, BioShock, Assassins Creed, any of the major Crytek and Unreal Engine games equal a lot of quality software that was missing ...
Nintendo has used open GL natively since the days of the GC I believe and it basically means that PS4 will be a much easier system to not only program for and get game engines up and running on with ease. But it will take little to no efforts as well for developers to harness the systems full power without braking the bank(this is why developers like Vigil said they had Dark Siders 2 up and running on the Wiiu in a matter of weeks)... Listen people, even if these games are in development they aren't going to announce them now with e3 being so close. Nintendo and Capcom have a very close working relationship, I mean look at how aggressive they supported the 3ds with software. They may just get an altered version of Resident Evil 6 but I'm sure Capcom is itching to show off what direction they can take the series with the wiitab. This information is about Sony as a whole company! Sony is the parent company of any of their respective branding divisions... Does that mean the Playstation brand is their problem issue, no! But this is no different than when the auto-industry was in its dier-straits and even though it wasn't every brand under say GM that was failing for the company. But the parent company had to file for bankruptcy to rid itself of its dead weight as well to keep those valuable assets in their fold
A loss and profit are apart of everyday business ventures, but a company this large doesn't just say its cutting 10,000 jobs and think that it will go away lightly! This is gonna have a very negative effect on Sony's stock value... They need and must shed their electronics division. The TV, camera, mp3 & Audio departments have just become too competitive by cheaper manufacturers for Sony to stay relevant in these given areas. Not to mention that most cellphones have excellent came...
Not to mention that Sony hasn't really shown the value of getting this device over a much more established, cheaper psp that still looks pretty good and has some very good games as well. That's whats eating the potential sales of PsVita, their own products on the market! People say the PsVita is going for the console experience on the go...
