Boy I see why Nintendo views Apple a such a great threat. Because just like them, people want them to fail even though they keep succeeding. Now look at the position Apple is in! I've never seen so much hate and insecurity for a piece of plastic with electronics stuffed inside... Its as if people can just tell how successful this thing will be, but just don't want to admit it to themselves.
I think they averaged that the pre-sales alone were reaching close to 3 million, so yeah I think the final amount will depend on how many Nintendo can get made in the end.
It should be the other way around, developers have a lot to prove! They are the ones asking for $60 for half assed versions of games... The real problem is that EA thinks they are to big to fail and they really don't have much competition in the sports arena. So who's going to really step up and take their marketshare from them if they release sub-par versions of games?
I think they well get that number and then some if they can make enough consoles to sell...
I'm glad that someone else got this interpretation and not just me... I was beginning to think that most people just don't read for themselves anymore!
The sad thing is, who doesn't use Foxconn these days? The real solution is resolving such situations instead of boycotting... Companies like Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft and Apple bring Foxconn way to much money in for them not to listen, if these companies speak up on matters like this.
Here are the exact 2 quotes that Hutchinson made about AC3 on WiiU! Nothing more or nothing less. So I have no clue as to why people keep talking about the graphics when he never once mentioned that...
"I'm super excited whenever we demo the Wii U," Hutchinson said. "It is exactly the same game that's on the other platforms. And I know that sounds ridiculous, but it's been a long time since I've shipped a game on more than three platforms where ...
I just knew from reading the title that people were going to come in here and suggest that he's speaking specifically of graphics, when he's not! Why would he say the game is the same across all platforms when we know that the PC is for sure going to be better looking version. He's simply speaking to the overall experience of the game across all platforms will be the same... To Many people are over analyzing every word that these company figure heads are saying, just to make a sto...
If people want to know what the difference will look like between the WiiU and PS4/720. Go on YouTube watch a HQ video of the Radeon 6670 running Battlefield 3 and then watch a HQ video of a Radeon 7850 running Battlefield 3. I promise the difference isn't as drastic a most here would make it out to be and the mainstream public surely wouldn't notice this! These two cards are probably what is one, comparable to what's in the WiiU and two, around the protected PS4/720 projections. ...
The most impressive comment to me that Ancel makes regarding the WiiU, is how at times they forgot to even add texture compression and everything still ran on the system just fine. If that isn't a testament to the system being next gen then I don't know what is... Mark my words, there are going to be some very impressive looking games on this system in due time!
For those of us that bought into the current gen of consoles pretty early on, yeah this gen is really showing its age now. But its understandable for many to feel like there's still alot left in the tank if you've just gotten your PS3 or 360. Many will quote games like TLOU and Beyond as reasons to continue on with the PS3, but in the same argument these games would have made killer launch titles for the PS4 as well!
Edit: I see the PS4/720 being powerful systems no doubt. Bu...
I agree man! What doesn't make sense is that it's public knowledge that early Devkits for WiiU were using underclocked Radeon 4850 chips(which at the normal clock rate produce 1Tflop of power.) When the final Devkits were sent to developers, the first comments that were made about the new Devkits. Was the excitement over the added power that the most recent version brought to the table. So how does anyone in there right minds believe that the 360/PS3 are pushing anywhere close to a Te...
All in all, what you have pointed to about the PS4 are just rumors and not leaked inside information! I can't say for Sony, but its almost guaranteed that Microsoft will go for something that is somewhat powerful but affordable at the same time... People aren't looking at the reality standpoint of the situation. Its not what if both Sony and Microsoft can make a stronger system than Nintendo, since that's pretty much a given of what will happen. But what kind of investment will t...
I think the art style and graphic engine to create the game are two different things to consider. The Zelda demo of 2011 e3 was in the art style of Twilight Princess, but looked nothing like that game at all... So a new Zelda game in the art style of Skyward Sword could just mean a more colorful look but could look as good as Trine 2 in graphics..
Brother I hear you there! Listening to some of the things people chose to talk about, while I was playing Gears for the first time was horrible and scarred me for life... Not to mention I love how well online works on the 3ds! Just connect and race random people. I don't talk to you and you don't talk to me that's the way online gaming should be. You chat with your friends over the phone! Lol
Well I agree it would be awesome but they are doing something even more basic that every HD console should have come with. A high speed HDMI cable! I think every manufacturer has its blunders from time to time. But when I think back to the time when I bought both of my HD consoles and neither one came with an HDMI cable in the box. That was pretty crazy to say the least for me...
Only one reason for me!
Badassery with a native man at the helm...
(being Native American we don't see much representation in games like this besides Prey, Turok and now AC3)
Trine 2 looks so amazing! I as well want that game... I have a feeling that Nintendo consoles haven't always been very popular in the Indie community, but it seems Nintendo is looking to change all of that with the WiiU
Cell,
I'll get you,
I'll get you Cell!... (sorry for the DBZ flashback there!) Lol
Well I think Ubisoft came out recently and proved that the WiiU in fact has zero bottle necks at this stage. Being able to run high resolution textures uncompressed is an amazing feat and is just added proof of what a well designed console can achieve...
