It's weird that almost no one here is putting that togther. They just reached 70 mill as of november 4th, and they jumped to 77 mil as of December? Doesn't that sound a bit jarring to anyone else? Also this is a report/forecast. So are these numbers even substantiated?
Well look how many copies Rockstar shipped of Max Payne 3, way more than they actually sold.
Furthermore how did Sony sell 7 million units between November and now without being noticed? Christmas rush and all be we aren't exactly in they 2007 hayday. I don't even think the 360 could do that. Either way you slice it, I think this gen has been far more even, last gen the ps2 blew everyone out of the water, not so this time around.
I feel like this was gonna happen, but confirmation of numbers from both companies would make this more legitmate. PS3 surpassing 360 would be bigger news, and I find it hard to believe that games media would have missed this trend as that doesn't happen overnight.
People are complaining about free...dlc? It's funny how some people wonder why the devs don't listen to their voices. It's because doing so still probably has a losing outcome.
Power....STONE!
I waited for this game for 3 years. Even when they delayed it a year from a solid release date in 2011,inexplicably dumped the 360 as the lead version, and made it sony exclusive for a while. And having finally played it, it was not worth the wait. The indie game cycle is one the biggest drawbacks to smaller titles.
I need to stop playing the DmC demo, before Iburn myself out. Ni no Kuni, is looking great, wish I had a PS3 for it. I wonder if the Cave is still coming out in January.
All I can say is that I'm interested in what Capcom and NT are cooking up. If the game is good, that's great news. If it's bad, capcom and NT have dropped the ball and the bridging of western and eastern game development will be brought to near extinction.
IT's just weird to me that people keep bringing things up about the old games and how it DmC is bad because it differs. That's the point of DmC to me, to separate itself from older titles.
The extreme hate surrounding this game made it more popular. Im not trying to discredit either pro or anti DmC people, it's just ironic. Though it does say something that the gaf discussions are far more constructive than ours.
Idont know what it is, but something about Rising doesn't do it for me. I think Platinum is one of the best devs this gen, but Rising looks like it's lacking polish in a weird way, but I want to try out the demo. Platinum almost never fails, so i'll reserve judgement. I enjoyed the DmC demo though.
@Root no one said it was perfect. Not all the writing is gonna be great, I already no that. Not like Star Wars had golden globe material.
Enslaved was a good game, probably their best. Heavenly Sword wasn't very good in my opnion. DmC is a risky game, and I feel like that aspect is getting lost on some people who are mad that it isn't DMC5 (which is kind of ironic considering how much gamers have complained about companies being safe in the last 2 years).
I just can't see DmC pleasing anything even approximating a majority of DMC fans. That's just inconceivable to me. If nothing else, I think Ca...
Have you played the full game?
Just a question. Also, what is broken about the combat in the demo? Serious question. I'd like to kknow unsarcastically.
Mature.
I can actually buy that logic, somewhat. But I wouldn;t dislike it because it's japanese, for that fact alone. If it was good, it would be good regardless.
You quoted me out of context. Maybe it didnt come out clear, but I was saying the DMC fans are allowed to dislike DmC. I'd prefer if they had valid justification, but that's not always necessary. I'm saying that no one is forcing them to like it. But some of these fans a dumping all over DmC as if it's been widely panned.
Old DMC fans don't need to like this game. They really don't. However, a vocal minor of the anti-DmC force need to stop acting like hating on every article about the game is constructive. You've said your piece. Some far better than others, and far more respectable, but SOME people need to stop acting like thier opnions are fact as to why the game is "terrible".
Also the notion that this game isn't exactly like the old games, is the entire point of D...
Two things.
I never said DmC will convert all or most hardcore DMC fans, I said some are giving it a chance.
Also, I don't think it's just the look. I have seen some of the reasons as to why old fans are so against it. There is reasoning, but the anit-DmC camp can be unreasonably stubborn sometimes. To the point where the speak for all DMC fans. If that isn't arrogance I don't what is. I don't like being told what to do by some people who...
That's a report, not officially backed numbers. I think it's more from the opinion that Sony has suffered a significant economic loss on the ps3, and while sales are steadying, in comparison MS has been placed in a better position economically to start next gen.
