I'm all for gaming growing, and I believe there are social contexts that have been neglected. But for F***sake EA, how about delievering working products? How about not reducing games to check boxes. You need to work on how to run properly before you tackle other issues.

One doesn't directly inform the other. Different genres, different design goals, different platforms, just about everything is different between them. The whole "It's not changing much either" rationale isn't fair because both series have different contexts and expectations.

You guys do remembered how sony ruled last gen with an iron fist right? That completely changed this gen, with nintendo taking the crown at the end of things and Microsoft gaing significant ground on sony. I saw it's too early to predict anything until we see the new xbox. Even then, who knows how the public will latch on to it. I mean hell, I never thought guitar hero was gonna blow up like it did.

You forget that games are a business as well.
I think too many gamers forget that.
Coming from the cell structure to a different architecture will take time. Why not:
A) push a franchise they know well
B) a franchise with room to grow
C) And a franchise that shows nextgen power.
Makes perfect sense to me, there will be new IP, but damn people need to be patient.

How do you know that works flawlessly? The Kinect was supposed to work flawlessly. The WiiU was supposed to be intuitive. A lot of things have promise, but fall short. I mean, if sony gets it right then everyone wins. Competition breeds higher quality and they set stadards, but prologue makes me a little skeptical of sony's future vita efforts.
I knew they were gonna talk about the PS4, but I didnt expect to the vita to get left out in the cold so hard. Remote play isn't exciting because it's 0 for 2 on both sony handhelds. Even if they get that right, diminishing returns of a 3rd try will definitely be felt. Nintendo turned it around on the 3ds with some bold moves; public apology and reward to early adopters and a massive price cut and big hits in the latter half of 2011.
