No way.

In game dev, the lead developers tend to move on to better things. It's the lower end staff that get dropped and struggle to find work. He'll find a new job at a respectable company without an issue, and he'll most certainly present Anthem proudly on his CV.

Inside the industry, folk don't look at the things in the same way you consumers do. Shipping a massive triple A game is a momentous achievement regardless of its critical su...

Isn't that a little odd? I'm playing on a clearly mid-day ish map, and the watch says 11pm? I think it makes more sense to put the watch in sync with the in-game setting.

At least some people in NA like soccer. The interest in American football in the UK is near zero. Additionally, you don't have to be a fan of the sport to enjoy the games. I live in the UK and like the NHL games.

The study demonstrates that children who are familiar with guns in games, are more likely to touch them in-real life when they are left unattended.

However, this scenario is rather artificial. If you have unsecured firearms in your house... then the issue is that, you have unsecured firearms in your house. Not that your kids might watch a TV show and then hold your firearm for longer.

In all cases, children were very likely to exhibit dangerous behaviou...

I mean, there are obvious differences to the open world design even if the world itself doesn't end up being very interesting. Being able to tackle objectives in whichever order you please, is a huge, meaningful difference and it's up to the developers whether what kind of game they want to make.

It doesn't seem fair then, to express frustration at the fact that it's an open world game, and it makes a lot more sense to provide feedback in line with the eleme...

Likely not a decision the company made, likely the individual artist stole it from someone's devianart page.

The orginal artwork is quite poorly drawn, so they probably thought they could get away with it because I bet their own art concepts for the skin look quite different when drawn by a professional artist. However it's clearly the same character, all of the details are there.

She's talking about the structure of typical AAA game development and the reliance on large internal studios. She's not saying that games like those can't exist, but that more and more developers will rely on outsourcing.

Aside from the combat? The combat is most of the game.

Nintendo don't "let" third parties announce big games? What nonsense. Third parties can announce games as and when they please.

Basic, useless information.

Yeah, AOV is on Swithc too, but this device is a phone first, and a gaming platform second. I imagine for those looking for a phone, but also wanting to play AOV, this may be an appealing option.

Unfortunately the staff lost are unlikely to be the ones responsible for the games issues. Most of these issues will have come from upper management, staff members making the higher level decisions, and yet it's likely that they lost low level staff.

Arena of Valor is actually the most popular game in the world. I imagine they're going for that market.

I don't think Sony 'surrendered', I just think they weren't moving quickly on this. I genuinely believe they wanted to evaluate the scenario, see what was happening with cross play on XBOX/PC, etc.

I don't think Sony were ever saying no, forever, just that they wanted to carefully control their ecosystem, who plays on it, etc. I'm sure they made Epic jump through hoops to make this happen.

This article is so poorly written.

Sometimes Disney make wacky decisions though. Like cancelling things that are pretty successful.

People interested in game development? Most likely.

Titanfal 2 was more popular on PS4, than any other platform. There's no reason to think the XBOX ONE version would have performed better on XBOX.

I wouldn't put Quantic Dream and Sucker Punch on the same level as Naughty Dog. Personally.

Not to mention the Driv3rgate scandal where they tried to manipulate the games media into giving high scores for their crappy game. That was literally the last thing we saw from Atari before they filled for bankruptcy.
