Most likely the case, but I would expect that on PlayStation platforms they end up with deeper software level integration akin to their Pulse headsets.

Not with planars though, which are becoming more and more popular. Audeze own a lot of proprietary technology related to their planar magnetic drivers. So I imagine that would be the primary motivation for the acquisition.

It's not abysmal at all. It's actually really good for what it is, and I think it does a lot unique from Overwatch.

But there's not much reason to keep playing. There's not many maps and the seasonal content isn't that compelling. The same could be said for Overwatch itself though, honestly. I also think Gundam as a license sort of backfires for this type of game. The ven diagram of people who play FPS games and are super into Gundam likely isn't tha...

People do review bomb all the time on the basis of political views and in most cases I don't believe those are any indication of the quality of the game. For instance TLOU2 was review bombed for having playable female characters and trans characters. Nonetheless, it sold over 10 million units in 2 years, on one platform.

Those old cod games and prototype cost like £4 each. The idea that the backlog is great value is really just silly.

I think the value obviously comes from getting NEW COD games on gamepass. Which is great if you're a COD fan.

From my experience working as a game dev at major studios, they don't put much weight on metacritic user scores. They do use critic scores as internal benchmarking, but analysing player sentiment is much more holistic and complex, and it does involve reading on places like reddit (even if they do not post there). Today, a lot of it involves using AI to analyse data too, as they can pull player sentiment from thousands of posts on reddit without reading and coding them individually.

These guys are super optimistic about people using metacritic user scores to make purchase decisions. No one is.

“People need to leave their feedback and reviews, where it hurts Blizzard’s pockets. Reddit is not the place, encourage everyone to go to Metacritic and make your voice heard. Reviews are used by consumers to inform their purchase decision, not Reddit.”

Yeah, no one is doing that. No one is filtering metacritic by user score. Even metacritic i...

I think it will feature a different type of exploration given its procedurally generated. Probably much lower density and unique value of points of interest but at the same time your stories and experiences will still be more unique.

Combat in the newer God of War games has a lot more depth and much better design around enemies attacks. FFXVI's is too simplistic, both in terms of offensive and defensive options. You can dodge everything by a single press of a button very easily as the dodge has extreme I-frames. It rarely matters what attack you choose to use either, just some deal damage faster than others.

God of War has a lot of enemies that force the player to react in different ways. When to d...

The article here says "One thing to note here is that Sony never mentioned the use of glitches, so their use may actually be allowed to some extent.".

Eh, glitches are fair game in 90% of the speedrun community, so it's really on the organisers if they want people to avoid that. They're not like, hacking the leaderboard or anything like that, they're just using movement exploits with the games traversal systems.

Following No Man's Sky people were really alarmed with how common it was to find life, something that should be very difficult to have the appropriate environment to achieve. That's a valid perspective if you want to make a really realistic science fiction game but I do not think it makes for a good player experience if you're primarily seeking to entertain the player.

Everything we experience is because of life, without life there is very little opportunity for...

If he has no internet the game won't work because it's online only. That's the issue.

The game doesn't have an offline mode. Is that the issue then? If he doesn't have internet then he can't play.

Joris seems like a great guy. I spoke to him briefly once about how much I loved his music and he was really friendly/humble.

The only thing I can think of is that it's not working with googles DNS servers if he has those set? In which case he should try and use open DNS instead and configure his PS5's network settings manually to do that.

The issue your describing is very vague though. Like you google itself can't block someone from playing Diablo, like I say unless you're using their DNS servers by choice on your system, google shouldn't be involved in how your PS5 communica...

I like both but I think the racing is better in Speedstorm. It's just the monetisation really hurts this game.

It's problem is that it doesn't have much leverage over the industries games. So it will be hard for amazon to gain a foothold without making many acquisitions. They need better content, a similar problem to Microsoft but much more severe in Amazon's case, they're a long way off.
