You think Indigo Prophecy is the only game "remotely like" Heavy Rain?

Try The Pandora Directive or Blade Runner. Both games are stylistically very similar to Heavy Rain. They predate it by 13/14 years, and they're still lots of fun.

There's just a tiny little difference between those games.

APB Metascore = 58
AW Metascore = 83

That's exactly right. I would have bought this for PC on day one.

I don't own an Xbox, so I ended up watching a playthrough of the game on Youtube.
Of course now I don't have any intention of buying it any longer if it does come out for PC because I've seen the entire storyline, and the gameplay does get repetitive. It's their loss.

Almost at Crysis level? No.

Like I'm going to play Duke Nukem on a freaking handheld. Like I own a freaking handheld. Like I give a flying f*** about a freaking handheld.

Yup, I love being able to play Day of the Tentacle from 1993 or any other game on my 6-core with Windows 7.
With the consoles you're lucky if they're backwards compatible to the previous console, let alone to anything older than that.

Talk to you in two weeks. The final version will be practically identical, no doubt about it.

What? The demo is supposed to be advertising the game. Prospective buyers get to try the game and decide whether they like it or not.
The developer WANTS you to judge the game based on the demo.

I have no idea why you bring up the 360, but it's the same story.
It, too, doesn't progress much. How could it when it runs on fixed hardware? Alan Wake is 540p. If you call that progress then your definition doesn't match mine.

<<Is there a need for a new disc format?>>
- No.

<<Have the games stopped progressing in quality on the PS3?>>
- Yes. A long time ago. Squeezing out a bit more juice here and there through optimizations isn't progress. From a technological standpoint the games are not much different now than they were three years ago.

PS3 does 1200p now? Wow, that's awesome.

Instead of talking about the triangle button and the exclusive DLC you should stop and think about which platform these games are developed on. Just because there's a pretty picture doesn't mean it was taken on the target platform.

There's just one problem: the original size of these screenshots is 1920x1200

So unless the PS3 works in 1200p now, these screenshots are from a PC version.

Yup, and not a single Steam sale is in those retail sales graphs.

NPD's research indicated 50% of game sales being digital while PCGA's research indicated 80% of game sales being digital.

Whether it's 50%, 80% or something in between, it's ridiculous how they use retail charts to draw any conclusions.

You really need to stop comparing games which don't have anything in common. Uncharted is a very linear game which allows the developer to control fairly well how many objects and textures are visible at any given time. They can maximize graphics quality while staying within the memory budget.

A game like Mafia II has no set path, you can move through the environment however you like, so it becomes a lot harder to fit everything into memory.

The grass in ...

Except he was quoted as wanting 5 million people playing it on the 360, i.e. not including PC sales. Read the article.

The game looks pretty nice overall, but "detailed textures"??
I only hope the final version has a texture option in the graphics menu because the textures in the demo were fairly low-res and "consoly".

Yup, the 17" screen was hilarious.

Well, at least Rockstar will give us a PC version* unlike Remedy who sold their souls to Microsoft.

*Which is released 8 months after the console version. Fun times.

This isn't about the speed of the RAM. It's about how much you can fit inside. Lack of RAM holds back for example texture resolution which can be readily seen in lots of games, even the beloved Killzone 2 or Uncharted 2.

P.S.: Anybody who hits disagree please post a 720p screenshot of a high-res texture from one of those games. Have fun finding one.

RAM is the only thing you think? Maybe you should read up on what kind of graphics processors are in these systems. A Geforce 7 series is three generations old.
